I work at a retail boutique, have done in various locations over many years. Although I have a few other pieces in my collection that i wear somewhat regularly (Autavia reissue, Linde Werdelin Oktopus, Omega Seamaster, etc) I tend to wear one of my Rolexes to work for a major reason - its a conversation starter with a lot of my clientele. If a couple comes in and they’re wearing matching DJs, its easy for me to say “i love that both of you are wearing Rolex!” And then the conversation goes from there. Rarely do people act funny when I ask them about their rolexes. And I have had clients ask me about mine as well, especially the SD43 and the 500C Daytona.

On balance i wear a Rolex to work probably 85% of the time.

Yep. Either a Sub or Sea Dweller every day until I retired last year. Now just a 2016 Sub/Date, 2016 Planet Ocean or a Baume Mercier Capeland Chrono.

No. I’m a nurse and due to my position/hours worked make double to triple more than the majority of my coworkers, more than my boss, more than some doctors. They know it and I’ve already gotten jealous comments about my truck. My wife has gotten comments about her BMW from her nurse coworkers as well. The sad part is almost any of them could do what I do but they won’t. They’d rather be jealous. I don’t need any drama wearing a watch that’s two months of their salaries. Besides any watch I wear to work tends to get beat up on. I don’t mind some wear on my Submariner but I’d like it keep it somewhat nice.

If you don't wear your Rolex because your boss doesn't. Maybe he's not wearing his because his boss doesn't and then maybe that guy isn't wearing his because... Well you can see where I'm going. Maybe if you start wearing yours it will free all those other watches from their closets?
