FP Journe Appreciation Thread, an Evolution.

And most importantly, the entire boutique staff was very helpful and accommodating. Really makes you feel like you are part of a bigger family.

This will be my last major purchase for a long time to come. Never would have imagined owning a piece like this if you asked me 10 years ago. Just feeling lucky and blessed.

How about Black Label TV? I actually think that a boutique edition TV would also work. Black and gold is so classic.

But I think this one is a strap monster with both the white color of the platinum and the warm rose gold.

It’s a very enjoyable watch that ticks many boxes for me. I think you’ll love it. Can definitely replace a lot of other stuff. I’ve really only been wearing my Journes for the past month or so and not sure I’m going back. If I had a larger collection it would be silly but I don’t so might as well wear the good stuff.

Thanks. In the end I didn't trade. I like what I have. This is the "Labyrinth" dial (1st generation, made by the engraver who passed away). They made 5 of these -- 2 with PT case/YG dial, 2 with PT case/RG dial, and this one (the "el cheapo" RG case/WG dial). You can see that it has the older power reserve, which is horizontally (not vertically) oriented on the dial. The arc of the power reserve indicator (between 0-42) -- its gentle curve -- conforms to the curvature of the engraving. That's what's genius about this aesthetic. When the 2nd Gen Labyrinth came out, it had the newer style power reserve indicator (which is rotated 90 degrees from this one), so you lose that harmony -- and the engraving wasn't quite as nice. Still, I really have a thing for the the dial on your Vertical Tourbillon -- the pattern and the multiple pieces.

I was excited that the TV is supposed to be one of the few hand turned dials from FPJ and then you posted yours.

When I first got interested in acquiring a Resonance, I did a search on Google and a couple of old for sale listing popped up from the mid-2000s at $40-50k. That makes me almost want to cry. I agree how have things changed.

You don’t have to go back that far. Resonance were 50-70k at watchbox when I first started considering an FPJ ~4 years ago lol
