I guess I'm in the minority on this thread...'cause I would LOVE to see a Daytona-Date. Why so many scream, "No...don't change an icon!" is beyond me and I'll never understand that point of view.
I'm not asking Rolex to REPLACE the Daytona w/ a Daytona-Date, I'm asking them to ADD another to the line. Give us more options and let US choose which one we like the most. If you fancy yourself a 'purist Daytona owner', great, then continue to buy the dateless Daytona. But for those of us like me that absolutely must have a date, it would finally bring us into Daytona ownership. Yeah, that sounds like an awful business move! I've said it before & I'll say it again...if Rolex would have embraced this attitude of not offering more watches w/ dates decades ago, the Sub-Date would have never been debuted and all we would have to choose from is the original Sub sans date. Someone remind me how popular the Sub-Date is these days! Oh yeah, that's right, it's pretty much the most popular Rolex sport watch & far out sells the original Sub due to said popularity. Again, makes no sense to me to continue to live in the watch dark ages and refuse to update & offer more options to such a great watch as the Daytona. |

My guess (more a wish) is a new Explorer based on the Milgauss case. I'd settle for the same case, but with a different dial that looks less contemporary.

1)they'll never put a date on the daytona.....but will they come out with some sort of anniversary edition????
2) Ceramic SS Sub 3) Coke/Pepsi GMTs 4) Rose-Gold GMT...i wish! 5) definetly more dial option for the DJ II and Day-Date II.

My money is on the following...
New sub date stainles steel with ceramic of course and a cut down version of the glide lock clasp. Also has been talk of a green glass ceramic sub, which could be interesting that now they have got production of the GV glass sorted. Possible mods for the explorer 11, utilising the gmt2 size case and the same movement which would look great daytona, donthink anythin will happen with this model for a couple more years when its the 50th aniversary, but natural progression wuld be to use the new yactmaster 2 case with the new waterproof pushers, which makes a lot of sense and a date function of course. On speaking to my contact a rolex, rumour has it that they might re issue the sea dweller again, but in limited numbers. with red writing on the dial, as they realize they made a mistake in discontinuing this model, because not every bodies wrist can support a watch of this size. Sub non date will continue and not be discontinued, Roll on basel.... |

Prediction - the redesigned Sub will mirror the GMT IIc, without the PCLs.
Hoping for...a larger Explorer I option and/or a redesigned Explorer II with the newer shaped case/lugs, maxi dial, bracelet and clasp. In all reality, I believe this is wishful thinking, but if either of those changes take place, my newer V series 16610 will probably be posted on the "For Sale" section of the forum. |

Other than 116610 with brushed center links, maybe a stainless steel yacht-master II with black ceramic bezel. Hoping for an updated explorer II as well.

The SS sub is a no-brainer..the only question is PCL vs BCL
I vote polished...heck it's a 50:50 shot there. I think that the big story is going to be the Daytona... 50th year- will it get the green treatment? either green lettering or a green dial. maybe a maxicase? I think that will be the one to watch... Agree with the Super Jubillee for the DJII Everose will likely make it's way into the DJ lineup as well and maybe, just maybe more roseGold in the sport models. |

I'll be going to Baselworld, like every year. It's so nice to actually see the new watches before they become available, can't wait to get the new catalogue ! I was thinking of the Gv Milguas but now I'll probably get a Black dial DateJust in Rolesor.

I went to the Rolex boutique in SoCal and the dealers there had no problem telling me that the SS Sub and the Daytona Date is coming out - no question about it.

Will any forum members attending Basel be able to post 'bulletins' while they're out there?
I for one would be very grateful if anyone could please.....

Personally, I would like to see a SS/Gold GMTII with blue face and bezel instead of black. I dont understand why the Sub is the only one with blue.
