Without altering functionality, it adds aesthetic value to the watch.

I don't dislike it... as a matter of fact it gives a touch of "otherness"... like if the watch is saying "Hey I'm a real Rolex, are you one too?"

I like it only with bigger dial rolex and I think it doesn't match with 26mm or 31mm lady with small dial...

I do not mind that much, but I prefer them without engraved flange/rehaut.

I bought my last LV Sub because it DIDN'T have the engraved rehaut. I have several Rolexes with the engraving, so it is not a deal breaker........but I definitely prefer it without.
