I think the daytona is becoming a unisex watch. Lots of women are wearing them but so are even more men. I see more and more women wearing 16610s, however I don't see anyone calling the sub a women's watch.

I did not know that. I had a big bang in my possession for a few days (I lent my friend a GP) and it sure looked and felt like plastic to me.

It has been going on for about 15 years so to dismiss it as a fad or trend is not quite accurate. In five or ten years from now, I believe women will still be wearing Daytonas. I for one love it.

Hublot sponsor Manchester United. The guy from Hublot gave Cristiano Ronaldo a free Hublot, he made him take off his Daytona then said " now you have a proper watch" - idiot!!

Some GUYS pal using their watches to tell the time, driving their sportscars to enjoy the ride, not to compensate with oversized things their undersized pr*ck.

Well I love both brands...yes it´s possible! I started out with several modern Rolex....DJ, LV and a Milgauss GV...but I got bored of the mainstream design and that they looked too neat and clean.....so I sold them all and plunged into the Rolex/Tudor vintage marshes........so with my 1665, 1680 Red, 16030 and 94010....the Hublot Ice Bang is the perfect modern partner....but still not as common and booring as the newer Rolex lines. For me the Hublot design and choice of material is a bit more creative. But to be honest......I find myself using the Hublot far more less then I intended....the love for vintage Rolex is too strong

I think Kevlar is a high strength polymer. Doesn't that qualify it as a plastic?

Myself I don't see much similarity aside from the color.

And to all those who are bashing Hublot, I'll have you know that the saleslady at Wynn & Co. Jewelry told me that Hublot was just as good a watch as Audemars Piguet, only cheaper!

The hublot / AP quality maybe similar but I wouldn't hold out much credence in the 'sales lady' and her opinions. Ask Chris, The GMT Master, he knows his stuff but a hell of alot of sales staff talk drivel!

I don't think much of Hublot, especially next to a great watch like AP. I was just making fun of the saleslady. Didn't you see the "" and the ""
I guess I should have added a "" too.

i took a look at hublot's offerings in this years german watch catalogue, but except for the limited edition kevlar watches they do not mention this component but for some strange reason rubber is mentioned everywhere.

hublot seems to sponsor everything which is a bit strange from a watch company producing only 25k watches per year.

Is hublot an independent manufacturer like Rolex or PP, or does it fall into one of the big luxury groups?

This forum definitely has a lot more bickering and personal attacks than it used to, but this thread is a little ridiculous. For those of you who throw out words like heritage and prestige, you might want to consider the heritage and prestige of this forum--and then go make your disruptive, disparaging, and asinine comments somewhere else. This is a place where people who love watches come to discuss their finer (and lesser) points like adults with class. I've seen date-rape trials proceed with more respect between adversarial positions than most of the "discussions" of this sort on this forum.

Tru but Ronaldo was getting pictured with his Daytona left right and centre. The 'free' Hublot was nowhere to be seen!

Sponsoring a team (like united) is a bad idea because some people will be put off by this. E'g like a lot of people wouldnt use Vodafone because they sponsored united as well.

A brand like Rolex tend to sponsor whole events (like the Masters)
