If we wanted to only use search buttons then none of us would be here. Dude, although I don't have many posts on this particular forum, I'm not a "newbie", and I know how it works. I was just starting a discussion to talk about why different people may think they need a date function or not, and maybe just for my own sake to see what different members of the forum at this particular moment thing about it. Sorry it devolved into a griping session about the size of my text and whatnot. At the end of the day, I'm happy to have had so much great input from the members here, and whatever other silly stuff is just incidental. For the record, I don't think my text size is unreasonable, and I have my own reasons for using it. Really, only the forum admin can decide whether they'd like it changed, and if they ask, then I'd be happy to oblige.
hi have you ever looked up the meaning of the word dude?

All of my previous watches had dates. But as the previous poster mentioned, the date function ended up being superfluous. Having a desk job, the date is always in my face as I have a calendar hung up, not to mention cell phones, pc desktop displays, etc. I don't need the date at all to be displayed on my watch.

Right now I am thoroughly enjoying a nice clean symmetrical dial on my oyster perpetual and hopefully in the near future, a 14060m.

Yes. I'm using the "Wikipedia" or "Urban Dictionary" meaning. Have you ever looked up the meanings of the words capitalization and punctuation? It's never nice to start pickin' things, or people apart.

I absolutely "need" the date feature on the watch. No date is a deal breaker for me. I dont remember to look at the calendar everyday. I sign a lot of vouchers, checks etc as part of my job and it is very convenient to look at the watch for the date.. so absolutely need a date.

Very much the only reason I have passed on the daytona and milgauss although they are beautiful watches.

i also enjoy changing the date at the begining of a month

is that because you don't like the look of a no-date watch, or is it because you are un-able to remember the date?

Thanks...I'm actually a 36 year old watchmaker who's never worn glasses a day in his life. I can read your yellow text from 6 feet away. I have (had) two friends, one of whom has recently passed away who share (d) computers with other people and regularly read watch forums, and have (had) asked me to post in slightly bigger letters so that they (he) can see it since their (his) vision's blurred from chemo, and adjusting their (his) computer's not easy since it's a struggle to even stay up for more than a few hours a day. Again...thanks for the manly behaviour.

I need the date. I can look at it 15 times in a day and still if someone asked me the date I would have no idea until I looked again. Ask me about a job we did 22 years ago and I can tell you things right down to the slightest detail (I think ) so it must be the way my brain is wired.

So why not use normal sized text when multiple people on the first page ask you to?

Instead you call one individual "dude" seamingly oblivious to the fact that many perceive that term to be quite rude. When another user tries to point that out to you, you blast them for punctuation. You dont play well with others, do you?

For my daily watch, it must have a date as i look at it multiple times a day to write down the date.

I had a no-date Air King I used for years and always had a regret that I did not buy a watch with a date. Now that I have one with my GMT, I can never go without one. I'm getting too absent-minded to ever remember today's date (it's always changing and that screws me up).

+1.

I love the explorer. I think it is gorgeous, I would have one today if it had the date. I need a date on my watch, it just seems unnecessary not to have a date.

if not, why did you have to increase the size of your posts? surely you are able to tell which forum you are making post(s)/reply(ies) to.
