Hi Enrique,

The plot thickens. During my last business trip, I saw some excellent examples of 16520 Serial A, U, P, W and R. They came in various conditions and price range. Truly confusing to choose the right one.

My preference was the A since it had all the things important to me: Luminova, SEL. The U came with full box and papers but the price was steep. The P was wayyy over priced asking 2 1/2 times of a new 116520. The W was only the watch without box and papers but the condition was not really good. Same as the R serial. This october I will fly again and maybe this time I will have enough time to carefully inspected the pieces.

I also received an outstanding offer from our fellow TRF who knew how I loved the 16520, however I am not so sure how the import tax, shipping etc works down here so it's a bit risky. I lost a watch before but still interested in an honest transaction and see if the price is comparable to the other shops.

This hobby just drives my wife nuts, she asks me to stop looking at TRF!!

I own both movements. The Zenith is the more valuable movement. Zenith is the icon of the automatic chronos. The Rolex movement is spectacular but so is the Zenith movement. It was embarrassing for Rolex to be buying movements from Zenith so they had to develope their own in house movement.

Understanding that a vintage watch and my typical propensity for Lume happiness are not happy bedfellows of the vintage models. Would old luminova or T models retain more lume? I take it that the T designation by Swiss made is for tritium paint?

Hands down 116520. Rolex 4130 superior to the Zenith IMO. As far as collectible only time will tell. But the price of NIB Daytona 116520s are increasing exponentially.
