The cab driver was wearing one when I was in London last year. Another interesting place I have spotted one was in Venice.

I have only ever seen one PAM wearer in my whole life and that was a watch dealer in Hatton Garden about 4 years ago. I think the fact I remember that moment so vividly makes me question why one earth I havent bought one yet. Thinking of flipping Sub bluesy for PAM 111. What are your thoughts people?

I was just on a family holiday in Venice and who was sporting a gorgeous Panerai? Our gondola driver! I guess 100EU for 40 miniutes around Venice is a good gig. We had a great time and our gondoleer was full of personallity making our ride a memorable one for sure.

I live in Charlotte, NC. We don't have any Panerai dealers in the area and I've never seen one on anyone. I have several friends in NYC that have them. Seem really popular there and in Florida.

I was talking to a VP at my work last week and noticed he had a PAM. One of the very few cases where I see someone wearing one.

I used to wear my Rolex a lot but realized that I'm really too young to pull it off correctly, thus it's PAM 127 fiddy for me. I saw a guy in a meeting at work today (was probably 35) and he was wearing a President and it looked SO odd on him. Gorgeous watch. A nice sub would fit better IMO.
PAM is just a nice alternative for a younger wearer. I'm hearing that PAMs are played out now and other manufacturers are more popular. I dunno... with Rolex and PAM you can't go wrong in my book. |

Was in NYC a couple of weeks ago at a meeting and a guy had one on. A long conversation ensued praising the uniqueness of them and rattling off our inventory of "haves" and "must haves"... Inspired me to go down to 5th Ave and buy a new PAM 114 from Wempe. I actually got a small discount - which I was surprised at given they only make 500/year.

I see lots of PAMs in NYC, LA, Chicago, Toronto, Mexican and Carib resorts, cruise ships, all over Florida and at airports all over the place. The few times I have been to Europe I see them everywhere

I have seen many in the same places. They aren't as rare as they used to be thanks to the Richemont Group...LOL.

PAM in Indonesia is really getting its trend, I have some friends in my inner circle that already sporting them. and saw them almost regularly when i go out to places like shopping malls, restaurants, etc. lot of fakes being sold here though. but still its the appeal of a PAM that counts

Pretty common in Seattle too. Just look at the guys in a Nordstrom closest to an AD... you'll see dozens.

I went to a party this weekend and a guy I knew from college was there and had a 111 on. Funny though is he didn't know much about it. It looked a bit fake to me as the numbers just didn't look right on the dial. He also knew nothing about the aftermarket straps that are a common knowledge among Panerai owners. I couldn’t believe he would invest so much in a watch and not know much about it.
He said he bought it pre-owned and that it was expensive. He said he hoped it was real. To me those statements said that it was probably fake considering his lack of knowledge and desire to get it verified somehow. I didn’t really push the issue with him as there were people around us, but I could have had him take it off and I would have got a better idea either way. I didn’t want to embarrass him or give him my opinion that it looked fake. Hopefully he really didn’t pay a lot for it and didn’t want to say it was a replica. Next time I see him with less people around I’m going to get a better look at it |

LNX - I ran into the same thing in the Gaslamp in San Diego. My girlfriend saw an Italian guy wearing one with his girlfriend - 000. I had on my Rolex DJ and simply said, hey nice watch I have a 321. He acted like he had no idea what I was talking about and just said, oh thanks and kinda slid his hand off the bar top.
I could care less - but if you are spending upwards of $4K on a watch you should know what it is - or maybe not! Haha. |
