I love my bluesy and would never sell it. Don't bother yourself about what others might think about the watch you're wearing. You sound like you love the watch, enjoy it. I think you'd be sorry if you parted with it.

Keep it and buy a tool watch for times where you dont want to show an expensive watch. I dont show my Rolex at work, and its a subC ss. Iwas comfortable using my speedmaster pro. Think i will buy a new pro to use when i dont want to show riches.

I think the blue sub is not that flashy depending on what you wear. If you wear French Blue dress shirts it is the quintessential executive's watch. It looks great with a classic polo and khakis too.
On the other hand, if you want more of an understated look, the black stainless sub looks great with jeans and a t-shirt and equally good with a tuxedo. It is all a very personal decision. I can't appreciate your position because in 15 years of wearing rolexes I've NEVER had someone ask me about my watch or stare at my watch. |

It's never the metal that makes the watch too flashy.
It's the addition of the stones that makes watches too flashy.

The SS ceramic GMT is a great watch...you will love how it can dress up and dress down..and how it goes with everything and every occasion.....not to mention the functionality of the GMT!!! Maybe if it helps your sales, you could justify keeping them both!!!

I think flashy is good. It can get people attention to your rolex.
In my opinion. dont sell the watch if u like them. But buy another cheap watch for every day use. Such as Luminox, Timex, Citizen, Guess Collection, Seiko or any other cheap brands. sometimes cheap doesnt mean its bad, it can be good in design (but using battery). |

No way I would get rid of it for a SS model. The TT resale is weaker than a SS so I feel that if you have a TT you should keep it. I don't think it's too flashy. Great looking watch IMHO and I have a DSSD and Sub C. I will have a Smurf, Gold GMTII with green face and a bluesy in a few years. Do what u want but I think that watch can dress up or down and isn't too flashy at all. If you are really worried about flashy ditch the Rolex and hit up the Casio store. Much cheaper and keeps time 100000000 better. If you are worried about flash why even have a Rolex.

I'm with the folks that say that it depends on how you feel when you wear it and also how you think your customers will feel if they know how much the TT costs. If you have any inkling that it might affect your customers perception of you as their salesman in any way, I'd sell it and buy a SS Sub in a minute. By the way, that's what I did after owning a TT GMT for awhile. I went with a Sea Dweller because of the very casual way I dress (even when with customers) I felt it was too flashy.
So there, you have another opinion. Again, it's how you feel wearing it and how you perceive your customers will feel dealing with you.

It's really all about how you wear it...to say it's flashy or not is totally subjective. It is by nature a watch that reflects a lot of light...so it's noticeable for sure...especially when polished.

Some of your clients will stare whatever Rolex you wear, so keep the TT.

I would never wear an "iced out" Rolex, however, though I realize there are certainly those who can do that.

If it's not too late, I say keep it... Unless you're bored with it, in which case a different watch will make you happy... For a while.
For me, watches are not just chunks of metal. The longer I wear my watch, the more of me there is in it. The idea of selling it on the basis that I could buy another the same just doesn't work for me at all! Perhaps you would feel the same with yours? Keep it and, given that you want to wear a Rolex, supplement it another cheaper one - I'd suggest an Explorer I.

I would be more inclined to invest/buy from someone wearing a Rolex and driving a prestige car than someone with old watch driving a ten year old Honda Civic. You need to impress trying to sell anything.

I really like this watch. I will not sell it because of what other people may think about me.

I too would keep it. As I am also in sales I have found folks noticing my watches too... Even SS Rolex that I wear. Truth be told I think I may be thinking this is happening and it really is not I know for a fact that any non WIS type would never notice the watch someone is wearing... That being said Seiko, Pulsar and the like all make TT watches that look just as flashy IMO.
Wear it an Enjoy, it is a beautiful watch and I would not give it a second thought. If you are thinking you want something a bit more under the radar there is nothing wrong with SS either... See I am of no help

I have a blue tt subc and am also in sales. I also drive a Mercedes SUV. This topic comes up a lot with some colleagues. Some think that customers think you're making too much money off them and driving/wearing things like that may hurt your sales.
I've had conversations WITH customers about it. What I say is "Wouldn't you rather buy from a successful person who knows what they're doing and will do right by you to keep your business than buy from someone who is new or unsuccessful because they don't have the ability to maintain clients properly?" I know I'd rather buy from someone who knows what they're doing than not. Wearing the watch also gives me an extra boost of confidence. I know I'm there to sell, and they see me dressed to impress. They know I mean business and I'm there to close the deal.

I think it may be too flashy for customer facing position--but then again-some people are impressed by flashy things

Hi ya'll. I sell a service...marketing and business consulting.
By the way...since I originally posted this forum I sold the TT (yes I will regret someday probably), and purchased a GMT-C. I will be getting the GMT C tomorrow (preowned). I will post some pictures then. |

I have a similar bluesy which I really like. I never wear it to work as I too feel it attracts attention. I really like to wear it at weekends and when Im going out etc. You might be surprised how much attention even a ss sub attracts. I understand your concerns!
