I'm available Thursday if you want me to join.
Hey Renato, I'm actually off on Thursday, so if you're willing, I'm able. I really appreciate everyone's support on this. It means a lot.

So I just got off the phone with Joann Russo, the supervisor in the legal department and she is investigating this situation now. She is going to contact the AD to verify a few things and call me back as soon as she has an update. I mentioned speaking to my lawyer and brought up the Magnuson-Moss warranty act. She said the warranty IS transferable and will personally take care of it.

It was a bit strange, she knew about my situation last week at RSC NYC and repeatedly apologized for the way I was treated. Just waiting to hear back for an update. To be continued!

Is this a supervisor in the legal department at RSC NYC? If not, whose legal deparment is this? How did you get a hold of them? Nice job on your part, George.

I called RSC NYC directly at 2127587700. I spoke to a customer service representative first, then mention lawyers and acts. After that I was transferred to Joann.

If I were running the place I'd make sure someone was following it. I just think its a bit ridiculous. I've read lots of threads on this and there has clearly been mixed results in NY for quite some time now. Not sure why because its a pretty black and white issue. Does the warranty transfer or not. Yes or no.

Obviously we now know for sure that it does so I would expect no further issues in the future.

RSC/Rolex would be complete idots if they did not troll this and other forums.

I use to frequent a Harley-Davidson Forum and they found out, for sure, that Willy G himself use to read the posts and try to understand what his customers wanted and what they were complaining about

That's great news! It's unfortunate that it had to be escalated but these customer service people at Rolex need to be made aware that they are wrong.

Hopefully their legal department will take it a step further and speak to those people

Great news!!!! As picky as Rolex is I'm almost surprised they haven't made the warranty non transferable to try and discourage purchasing from anywhere other than an AD. That sounds like something they would try especially since many ADs are losing the line and the boutiques are popping up all over. Anyway I'm very happy for you.

Thank you brother. Hopefully we'll win this battle and some grey market purchasers can enjoy the 2 year Rolex warranty. That's really what I'm hoping for here.

I'm very interested as to what they're going to say--and if they're possibly going to compensate you for your experience(?)...

This topic has been beat to death before and the warranty transfers with the watch regardless of owner.

If you want to read more here on TRF do a search and you`ll be reading until next week.

I didn't receive a call today from Joanne and I didn't have a chance to call because I was in meetings all day. I'll be calling first thing in the AM, I'm off tomorrow so I hope to get this one in the books.

Apparently this topic is far from dead. And I DID read about it for probably a week.

Once again just this week the NY RSC said the warranty does not transfer. Why are they doing that when they are clearly wrong? I just don't get it.

Someone posted just what you said in an answer to the OP. So armed with that information he headed out to the NY RSC expecting them to regulate his watch. They insinuated he may have stolen it and refused service.

Hopefully this thread will finally pound the life out it and get it resolved.

Who was told the warranty doesn't transfer by Rolex? In this situation, Rolex is asking for a proof of purchase from an AD. The warranty card has an AD stamp and date of purchase and thats all they require.

Rolex has acknowledged that the warranty is transferable on several occasions. I called twice last month (as well as a few other members) and we all received the same answer. There are some customer service representatives that ask for an original receipt if the name on the warranty card doesn't match. An original receipt only proves that the original owner purchased the watch, who's name already appears on the warranty card, but it doesn't prove transfer of ownership which makes the request even more ridiculous.

These are uneducated customer service reps that need to be reminded that they, nor is anybody in the entire building, aren't a position to interpret the warranty on a case by case basis or change the terms of a warranty on an existing watch.
