How come some of you guys don't like YELLOW GOLD in your Rollies?
Hi guys,
Not being critical, but I have noticed that a number of you guys don't like yellow gold in your Rollies. Any particular reason why?

I am a fan of Yellow Gold! If you're want the look of stainless steel, get the real thing and save some money!
I'll commit a faux pas and say that I wish Rolex would use 10K or maybe 14K instead of 18K just due to material softness issues. I'm sure that Rolex with an in-house gold foundry could make the harder lower karat gold alloys with the same rich color if they set their minds to the task. Rawhyde |

Think an all gold Rolex is a must have for a complete collection...
I passed on the all gold GMT 50th Anniversary.

Yellow gold is not my thing. I feel its too flashy (for me) - plus I don't carry it well.

No, you crazy sheepshagger, you said "a number of you". How many is a number? More than 1; everyone but you? You gotta be more specific.

Gold's a little blingy for my taste.
Having said that, the TT Subs and GMT IIC are mighty appealing. I wonder why that is...

I like rose gold even though it won't match my gold wedding band... it's just got such a nice warm glow. Yellow gold seems colder...

It's too "blingy" for me...
Stainless, white gold, platinum are all much more understated. Yellow gold is in your face. I've had yellow gold Rolexes and two-tones, but I really prefer white metals - they're a lot more stealthy.
Everything I have currently (SD, Sub Date, Pepsi GMT, Red/Black GMT, GMT IIc, Kermit, PAM 232) is SS, with the exception of my daily wear PAM 25J - it's titanium. |

I enjoy looking at an all gold watch. i would actually consider buying the all gold gmt. but, i dont wear it well. two tone, i dont like because it's either gotta be stainless or gold, make up your mind! kinda like those two tone lexus cars out there....pick a color and run with it. lol!

Rolex 904L stainless steel is such an incredible material and they have a beautiful finish. Its not like any other SS in the world.

Yellow gold doesn't appeal to me on it's own without a nice contrast. I like it on the TT Sub Blue. Other than that, it just doesn't appeal to me and doesn't look as good as stainless against my skin tone.
