I'm a strap "hater" but kinda like it. Still waiting on SubC RubberB to change it up. I'd thought it would've came out with it when they did for the DSSD.

It won't be for everyone but I'm surprisingly pleased with it, it looking better 'in person' than in pics. The over-riding positive aspect is the way the strap fits precisely into the slot where the bracelet end link goes, making it look more an integral part of the watch than a nato strap etc. I hate to see the big gap on natos between strap and watch case, this, in my opinion, cheapening the entire thing, whereas the RubberB looks rather classy.

For what its worth, thought I'd update on my experience with the Rubber B strap on my DeepSea after a weeks use.
Still very impressed all in all and glad I bought it. The only downside is that I find I can't get the fit ideal. Putting the tang in one hole makes the watch a bit loose, allowing it to flop around, which is annoying, whilst going to the next one means its uncomfortably tight. I could do with another hole in the middle, ideally. I guess this is an issue with all tang and buckle straps of which, other than a brief and unfulfilling encounter with a Nato, I have no experience. On the positive side I still find the Rubber B well made and very attractive, surely the most stylish of all rubber straps available. In my opinion all the others I've seen cheapen the watch, but the Rubber B doesn't. Just wish I could get it to fit a bit better to make it more comfortable! |
