What is the appeal of pepsi/coke bezels? I really don't understand how so many people want them. Its just one design of so many. What makes it so desirable, and would you really go out and buy them if Rolex did make the ceramic versions? Then they would be just as readily as available in numbers as much as other sports models. You would buy it just for a red/blue color combination? Just curious why you all want them.

OK. I'll play the unconstrained guessing game.

New homage dials for the SS Daytonas, still at 40 mm. Black ceramic bezel on the SS and gold models. Steel bezel and gold bezel models continue in production w/a wider variety of dials.

A platinum 41 mm Daytona w/bracelet or strap; an even darker green gold dial w/WG lettering and white gold-rimmed green/black mix concentric sub dials w/a slightly larger platinum bezel and wider WG hands. Other dials come into play in 2014.

And finally, Rolex confirms in its press kit that knowing the date is irrelevant during an auto race and announces the Daytona will never have a date.

End result: The largest selection of Daytona configurations ever.

My favorite: A cream dial 39 mm Explorer 1; on a brown distressed leather strap or a brushed SS bracelet; both the strap and bracelet come with the watch along with a small tool kit in a wooden box.

A sort of modified YM II-like style comes to the GMT IIC to update the "Pepsi" look with a nod to the old Pan AM watch:

Deep blue ceramic bezel with black or white dial with red lettering and red second hand.

Deep red ceramic bezel with black or white dial with blue lettering and blue second hand.

Two-tone jubilee bracelet for the DJ II.

Or in honor of the latest PAMs from SIHH (2013 and 2012), will there be some fauxtina releases and maybe even some bronze cases!? Of course, all in 47 mm!!!

My guess:

1. Anniversary Daytona.

2. TT DJII smooth bezel with jubilee bracelet

3. GMT, bezel is half ceramic, half metal= creates the new coke or new pepsi

4. Some new model made in solid gold....

Since ROLEX owns Tudor and they have produced a lovely divers watch (Pelagos) in solid titanium -- I wonder if we will see a ROLEX divers in solid titanium? The Pelagos has been very well received and appears to be a strong seller. I expect a titanium model from ROLEX which would be another first.

Rolex is already using titanium in the construction of the Deep Sea. I wouldn't expect to see much more than that. Rolex does many many things with Tudor that they don't do under their own name.

I do not see what is such a big deal about coming out with a PEPSI ceramic. Just cut two semicircles, each in dfferent color and glue them together. The cut has to be precise and the joining process at the seams literally invisible, but I do not think the end user will really care whether it is single piece or two pieces glued together.

The ceramic insert is pressure fit into the bezel. The gluing and joining would have to sustain that pressure plus any additional stress from impacts.

This would be interesting to see. Not sure what I think yet.

I'd most like to see a coke or pepsi GMTC, like many of us.
I also think a TT rose gold DJ2 would look hot.

With a touch of 6263... remember, Roger Federer owns one of them originals and proudly talked about it last year to the press (Hodinkee)?

If this comes true, I'm game

Icon20 explorer

I know it's a long way off, but I'd like to see a 39mm rose gold explorer (I) with a mini-glide lock adjustment bracelet and a fixed ceramic bezel. This way explorer would officially enter the precious metals realm, long overdue.

Well...because the look of the Pepsi is dated. (Don't hate, I love mine...)
And, that would not be a very durable construction method. It would look half-assed to boot.

The only folks pining for a Pepsi are the folks on these boards. Mass consumers / target buyers for new models want bling, diamonds and precious metals.

A moonphased Datejust would tickle my fancy.

Though the ceramics bezel are awesome too.

How 'bout a reverse color sub C date. Silvery white dial, reverse ceramic bezel with black numbering on silver background.

Maybe wg gold or platinum.
