My Rolex service guy tells me too long in a hot tub is not good for the crystal gasket seal. When I wear my Sub in the hot tub, I keep my arm above water on the ledge as much as possible.

I never worried wearing SS watch at any occasion. SS scratches are easier to polished.

It just comes down to personal preference. For instance my dad will buy a watch, wear it and never takes it off until it's time for a new one. It's on his wrist 24 hours a day 7 days a week and for the life of the watch regardless of what he's doing. His watch sees everything from garden work, showers, sleep, office, construction and just about everything in between.
