Although I am a definite fluted fan, I can see the smooth look with a concentric ring dial or a sunburst dial

Although the DJ does nothing for me whatsoever.....if I had to choose then it'd be the fluted bezel.

The fluted is very nice, but I think it makes it a bit more dressy than I want. I also would be paranoid about bumping the fluted against the door jam, the smooth is a easy polish and it looks new again.
I personally love my smooth 116300, it is so comfortable and just a sharp watch. It is the perfect all around watch, from the beach to the mountains, from a suit to shorts and flip flops.

I prefer smooth with the oyster bracelet. The smooth bezel matches the polished center links perfectly. For the jubilee bracelet I would go with the fluted - seems to work better with this combination. Also depends on how dressy you want it. The fluted looks best with suits and dress shirts in my opinion. I wanted a DJ that would work well for the office and also for shorts/t-shirts on the weekends. For me that was the smooth bezel with the oyster bracelet.

I like both. The practical difference is that people who are hard with their watches must considered the SS smooth bezel because the repeated polish of the fluted bezel will destroy its glory.

Question - Why is there a stick in place of the IX on this watch, however the one pictured further up on this page has the IX on the face???

And Authorised Dealer every time for me (if funds allow)...the buying experience is all part of the future relationship with the watch...and collecting the wife's Rolex yesterday, drinking champagne in the process, was a great start to a lifelong relationship. Just shows, we are all different, it's what makes a forum great. |
