What size is your wrist? If I had to guess based on your SubC lug comments, I'd guess 6.5 or less.

Lucky for me, I started watch collection only in Dec 2013 and have no idea what the older sub lugs look like.
All I know is that the current SubC looks great. |

What is it about car lighting that shows off the Sub C? Yours looks fantastic. Here's mine in the morning by the Atlantic. |

Errr...didn't you see the watch before you bought it? Surely you would have noticed the lug size.
IMO the SubC is perfectly proportioned and far superior to the previous version. |

While not a fan of the supercase and lugs, I must say - they're worth it when you get the new bracelet and clasp. They're worth the price of admission. I've gone back and forth with the new Sub, and a pair of new Sub Dates, then to vintage, and five-digit models. When I buy another Rolex, it'll be a newer model.

I'm debating whether to keep my 116610 or switch to a 14060 or 16710, precisely because I find the case and lugs just a tad too large.
Having said that, I do really like being the only owner of my 116610, and I like the other upgrades like the ceramic bezel, maxi dial, and clasp. It will be interesting to see what the super cases look like a few years down the line after a few services and case polishes. Look at a selection of 20 or 30 year old sports Rolexes now, and some have lost quite a lot of metal. |

I didn't like the SubC that much and got myself a GMT Master II and then a 14060. They were fine but not as comfortable as I thought. Once I got my SubC, it feels very comfortable IMO because it is more balance between weight of watch and clasp. The old model is more top heavy (because of lighter bracelet and clasp) and gave me a flimsy feel. New model, though heavier is actually more balanced.
Whatever you want to switch to, make sure you try them out be be comfortable with. Good luck.

I love my SubC, dont wear it ever, but thats another thread look it up. I have turned down 3 older style subs, if I am honest i feel that I should really like the classic Subs because they are well, iconic and eveyone else likes them.
In reality everytime I handle one it feels too cheap and ordinary to be a real Rolex. Dont get me wrong I really want to like them, but dont. Side by side there is no comparison. The subC to me feels like a real Rolex should and in my opinion an update was long overdue. Thankfully Rolex agreed, Hopefully they are working to bring the steel Daytona in to the 21st century. Well overdue an update that one as well |

Gotta have faith in the changes / improvements Rolex has done. They did so for a reason, the thicker lugs are no exception.

Not only can't you say that the wider lugs are new, but one could argument that this style is, in fact, the original sub design.

I got to compare a SubC next to the new SD at an AD today and I have to say that the slimmer lugs look much better than the bigger lugs IMHO.

I struggle to classify my SubC as a "big watch"
DSSD yes, YMII yes, even DJII, but not the SubC, GMT2, Daytona or even SD. Just IMO |
