For me, they would all distill down to a GMTIIc LN. Everything I like about Rolex in one watch - black dial, black bezel, multiple time zones, date, oyster bracelet. Done.

It would have to be my Rolex grail....took me awhile to get it, and I am very happy to have it on my wrist.

Any of the three I own (Day Date / Sub / Daytona). Each would be enough Rolex on their own particularly if I still had other watches. Day date is probably the most unique so i guess would go with that. Others make great Chronos and dive watches the DD is special.

If it is what I already have it would be my 16550 cream. If it was any Rolex it would be a steel 8171.

I've changed my mind, come to my senses, rethought it all, had a break through, reconnoitered the situation, I've made a new decision...If I could only have one Rolex it would be a PepC.

Nice choice but for me the OP would have to change his question to: "If you could own one".

If I could have only one, I'd want it to be a triple 6 SD.

I've been wearing my ideal watch for 43+ years. No, I don't use the bezel or 24-hr. hand, but this watch transcends its tool-watch persona. Watches come and watches go, but this one will never be sold.
