My "work" watch is a SS DJ with smooth bezel and, of course, a jubilee bracelet with PCLs. The PCLs add just a touch of subdued elegance that separates the watch from the mundane without entering the "bling" realm. So, yeah, I like the PCLs on this watch, anyway.

I love then on my super jubilee because they don't show scratches even though it's polished, strange right, but I hate them on my Daytona, the bracelet is scratched to hell and their isn't much I can do about it except get the bracelet refinished, and then it will start all over again. Oh well, battle scars, you gotta love them!!! There is no way I'm going to brush my Daytona bracelet and get rid of the PCL, I think I would regret it.

I love PLCs. I've worn my BLNR daily for 3 1/2 months... sleep in it, shower with it, wash my car with it, mow the lawn with it, gone to formal dinners with it, its flown to several different continents (go on a 14 1/2 hour flight to Asia wearing a watch and try not to scratch it :) ). My hygiene regimen for the watch, besides the shower, includes a bi-weekly tape off of the brushed sides and hit the center links with a Cape Cod cloth for a minute or two followed by a toothbrush cleaning using dish soap. This does not make scratches disappear but makes them shine and blend into the background. If you hold the watch in the right light, the scratches are obvious, but in a general setting they are almost impossible to see:

Outside wrist bracelet that takes the brunt of scratches, not too bad at typical light angles:

Same outside bracelet but angled to try to have the light catch the scratches:

I've not touched the brushed parts with anything here. I don't mind the scratches at all... in fact the more I get the less I can notice new ones. At some point I'm likely to stop polishing the center links, or at least do it less frequently.

Some watches suit them, some do not. Luckily Rolex has put in a lot of thought behind their designs. I like the PCLs on the Daytona with black dial. I think the GMT IIc looks good too. The Sub, no.
