TT Datejust in 1981. In hindsight I wish that I had bought an Explorer I or Daytona back then instead because I really like their all SS look now (and they have appreciated in value a lot more than my DJ ), but I had been working for IBM for a few years and needed a dressier watch to go with my suits.

Does anybody know what the Explorer 1016 and Daytona (6240?) went for in the early '80s?

GMT IIc - I still have it! It's been less than a year. I am looking for a two tone blue sub...I think!

Mine Was a 90's 16613 in 2004. I sold it and now seem to like the sleeker watches like the explorers and the dj2.

Got my wife a Hulk in July 2014. Was given a BLNR in August or early Sept- had it roughly three months. In December 2014, I was also given a two tone YM II and it was gone by late January 2015. Long story but the bug bit not long thereafter. First Rolex I bought was in February 2015- got a 114060 and 116613lb together.

My first was a 116520 though I think I will likely flip it as the vintage version took my heart...

Datejust II with blue stick dial and fluted bezel. Yes I still have it and it is my favourite watch.

It was a S/S 6239 Daytona manual wind for around $175 I dont remember exactly
Retail was $375 (?) and bought it at half price and a little less...with weekly payments.. lol

Actually I just talked with Bill a few weeks ago - still strong at the age of 88
Wonderful Story.
