Also it a lot light than the Daytona....

The only thing I hate is the big depreciation....

If it have the same depreciation as the Daytona, the Vacheron Constantin, Overseas Chronograph would be in my watch collection...
Thank you. Don't want to hijack the thread here, but bought it well priced, used in perfect shape.

I'm guessing that if I flip it, I won't take a huge hit.

Hoping to not flip it tho. I really like this watch.

I was in the same position and believe it or not a Tudor Heritage Chrono got me over it. Stunning colors, wrist presence, and nicely finished. Obviously not a Daytona but until they update the Daytona to something with a bit more size and legibility I'm quite happy with the heritage Chrono, which gets more positive comments than any of my Rolex's.

Yes it's a busy watch and I can understand why people prefer other classic Rolex watches but for me, the Daytona is perfect.

The first picture of white dial 116520 is breathtaking. I love mine and I think it's one of the best chrono and Rolex model.

Once again, UNREAL picture.

Funny, you guys have small wrists! Scaled, I think the daytona would have to be at least 44mm to fit the way it does on the majority of wrist shots I see on here, on me. I'll move on to AP or VC, pics to follow as soon as I can find a close enough AD. Thanks to most of the guys whom gave proper suggestions! Still definitely a snooty subset of daytona owners here though, I guess they'll always be around.

This was your post back on 2/1/15.

Then this past Friday,

Daytona dissapointment
I just got back from a local AD tried on SS, the RG ceramic and a tt. While I have been working on a deal to acquire one of these without handling one, I was so underwhelmed by the piece I will abandon the effort.

I don't mean to sound snooty but did you think the watch would have grown since the last time your wrist brain feedback screamed at you? Or was it that your wrist brain had forgotten that it had already determined that the watch wore small, the first time you wore it, and needed to elaborate, that it screamed fragile, feminine and dainty?

Is it me or this is a flippant comment towards Daytona owners or fans?

I think it s a little bit of column a and a little bit of column b. After all, the OP "rocks" his watches.

Yeah, I tried it a second time... What's your point? Ever done anything more than once to amalgamate your final opinion? Test drive a car maybe? Ever... Ohhh, changed your mind the second go around?

Daytona is a fine watch (has history, and pedigree on its side), I tried to make it work twice. Not for me, as others have pointed out, maybe tastes will change.

Others have made great suggestions for an alternative, I'll follow up with those.

Some have displayed their love for a great piece (Daytona or otherwise), great, I know the feeling and I for one will continue to support the hobby, to help ensure we'll always have companies ready and willing to make creations for varied tastes.

Then there are the 'others', the snooty, or maybe I should have used the word 'tools', that would be more descriptive of those that have a disdain toward differing opinions and apparently subtle colloquialism (on the internet no less). If you're offended, don't worry; it's self diagnosing . I'm Not sure why those guys were here

Happy Memorial Day guys, enjoy your watches and your family!!!

Hell, I'll hijack my own thread for guys that post pics of their timepieces on this day of remembrance!!!

Well, quite frankly we are here for conversation. You sir, were the one who broadly offered insults to others. Also we donate to the running of the site. What do you contribute?

Yeah, as this goes on your character seems to come clear.

You start out not just saying the watch doesn't work for you, but rather being insulting and demeaning. Then you accuse others of being snooty or even being "tools", while you are the one creating an air of hostility.

There are different ways to do things. And one can surely make their opinions known and create discussion while still acting like a gentleman and being classy.

You sir have done the exact opposite.

Question how can the vintage Daytona get so much love at 37mm, and people say the modern day Daytona needs to be 42mm plus.

Rarity factor, I suppose. That inflates the size! Which leads it back to being a psychological issue, more so than a physiological issue. I wear watches that range from 36mm-44mm. After wearing 44mm for a while, it makes the 36mm and 39mm watches seem small. And then I switch to a smaller watch for a few days. You get used to the smaller size, and after a while the 44mm seem huge.

I guess the moral of the story is you get used to whatever size you wear.
