If collecting Rolex, then yes. The Sub is kind of like the navy blue suit in a gentleman's wardrobe. No matter how many suits you have, one of them needs to be navy blue.

I don't believe so! I own a GMT 16710, and I have no desire to get a submariner now. I feel it looks to similar in design. There are other pieces I would own before I went in that direction.

Yes just today I saw five or six of them at the grocery store while picking up some filet mignon.

Used to think that. Been through a half a dozen now. Always had at least one lying around, but I sold my last one as well as a 16600 SD and I don't miss either of them.

Have a SubC, but the SD 4K would be my keeper if I had to choose.

I respect the quality and brand. But they seem plain to me. I've tried numerous times to pick up a submariner or explorer ll. They are awesome in pics but just blah on my wrist. Felt no lust for them. Don't seem to have the zip that Omegas do. Maybe one day...

No. There is no such thing as 'must' in my dictionary.
However, subs happen to be too perfect and comfortable to miss for me.

One morning I was walking down the railroad tracks and to my horror came across the 2 separate halves of some poor bastard that had been bisected at the navel. Finding his top half unresponsive, not breathing, and detecting no heartbeat, needless to say I did what most of us here would do and immediately began CPR. Being isolated and alone I kept this up between the rails for perhaps 35 minutes before I was unfortunately driven off the tracks by the approach of an oncoming freight train.

The point is I'm happy there are so many Sub-wearers around out there the world, just in case. That guy on the tracks could be any of us, even me. Sure, my Rolex was the watch that accurately told me that there wasn't enough time to get to McDonalds via the normal route before they stopped serving McMuffins and hash browns, thus the shortcut down the railroad tracks in order to find the guy in the first place.

Great, and that's all well and good, but I'll be forever haunted wondering if the poor guy's fate would have been different if I hadn't been trying to time the chest compression rate using a GMT bezel.

Yes, at the minimum a ND model...at present I have 2 Subs (14060M and 16610LV) and will be adding a 114060...I also have an 16600 and D-Blue so I'm a big fan of the divers for sure!

Subs are like potato chips...can't have just one!

Yes; multiple subs are a must for my collection. Wow there's some spectacular photos in here especially the yellow and white gold sub together
