Not flexible, but a 1.1 italic. Perhaps a very little flex, but nothing that would be natural to use.

I added Private Reserve Blue Suede ink and it is great. And the best thing is it changes color with the ink so every ink change you have a different pen. Never gets boring. Oh.... and the vacuum filling system is incredible. You can fill it completely with a little trickery. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lXQZ4wkJwq0

It is really something to have.
I think it is designed by the fellow can't remember the name, (maybe Nathan ...?)who made up the Noodler's inks. Know anyone selling them. Lots seem to be out of stock ram |

A Platinum Izumo Togi Yakumonuri. In this image it is the lower pen.
The decoration on the Togi Yakumonuri is based on one of the ceiling paintings at the Izumo Shrine. The technique used in this case is to paint the clouds as a series of layers with color on color that is then ground down reveling the underlying colors and the whole polished design the covered by several coats of clear urushi. Closeup showing details of the two techniques: This particular pen has the broad nib. |

Today was an aberration. It started with the Platinum Y2K Le for some images and short test but then I pulled the cartridge and swapped it over into the Togi Yakumonuri since that one ran out of ink. The Y2K got flused and put away.
The short timer Y2K to show the Aizu style urushi.

Aizu style urushi itself is really amazing.
Aizu prefecture is famous for it's lacquerware that is usually done with wood. First patterns are carved into the wood and sometimes painted and then the object is covered with an urushi coating. The urushi can be colored or clear and each layer except the very last is burnished before the next layer of urushi is added. The final layer or layers are with an urushi that has a small amount of oil added which naturally cures to the subtle glow seen on the Y2K LE. With this pen ebonite was used instead of wood. There were 300 of the pens made and this is #115. Here you can see the difference in the urushi finish between two Platinum LEs. |

Yes!!!
I can't seem to recuse myself from this lovey TWSBI! This sucker JUST WRITES RIGHT! Love the 1.1 italic nib. And the Blue Suede ink doesn't hurt either. But that is just my opinion....

Montegrappa NeroUno Linea in red gold today. It's been a while since I've used this pen.

This seems to be my go to Friday pen. The media blasted finish takes casual Friday well.
