AnywYs congrats..it's beautiful
If USA ADs can sell the watch (with sales tax included) in UK's MSRP, I believe BLNR in USA would be as hot as DaytonaC.

That AD is pretty dumb to say the least I live just behind them only been in a few times but they don't half talk rubbish. Last time I was told the waiting list for hulk was around 5 years. Said to the guy that I had seen two for sale that morning in England from ADs he didn't know what to say

Thank you very much to everyone for their exceptionally kind words :)

Only been a member on here for a couple of months but absolutely love the atmosphere and vibe of the forum.

Nairn, I think we're going to end up having a chat at some point in the future as you seem to live far too close by and have similar tastes LOL!

It does seem a bit odd here in the UK for this watch as I spent a full morning calling ADs up and down the country in January when I was after just the normal ceramic GMT and no-one had any in - I then asked about the BLNR and was told of the long wait times (though not DaytonaC times).

I was in Glasgow's Argyle Arcade 2 weeks ago looking at a Tudor Black Shield and popped into the Rolex AD there (Laings maybe?) and the girl said she would have to take 10% there and then and it would be 12 months wait time.

MrGMT: I think most places can be like that, Ive had it at Porsche Glasgow when in looking at cars and the people on the other side of the desk know 10% of what the customer does ... Im a car idiot savant maybe? :D

The USA is a completely different market. We all know we could "pop over to the USA and find one", but the sums don't add up.

Also, you can ship it out to us if you want, but our price brand new works out under $8,000 at current exchange rate. Ship from USA to U.K the watch also becomes liable for 20+% VAT.

That brings your watch to close to $11,000, ours is $8,000.

Completely different market.
Import duty and VAT are two different things.

I will check but I think import duty might only be around 4%

Not sure what it was for but I was charged £60 for a £240 delivery from China last year - motorbike bits and bobs. Dont know how that reflects though.

Big congrats. How unfair of Rolex !!! In the New York metropolitan area they are often in the window display or showcase waiting to be purchased.
