I love Audi. I would have gotten the Q7 this time around, but I wanted the higher HP and I do love the style of the 50i with the M sport package. But if the Q7 comes out with the S, I am going to very tempted for sure.

BMW is killing it with these finishes, the way the light reflects off of it is absolutely beautiful. As long as it's nice cars, I don't mind a hijack

I just came home from the RS7 test drive so I figured it's time for an update/review. I want to start off by saying both the M3 and C63S are now completely out of consideration. I am absolutely blown away by the Audi.
So, I went down to the dealership and before I was able to find the salesman I had spoken to I ran into one of the new R8 spyder's. Also, I forgot to take pictures due to sheer excitement but I found some on IG in order to give at lease some visual to the story. So I was staring at the R8, I climbed inside and started fiddling around with the interior. I quickly began contemplating in my head, how did I start looking at an M3 and now I'm sat in an v10 R8 Spyder. I started thinking, I could sell two of my other cars and just buy this instead.... but before I could let that thought manifest any further, a nardo grey RS7 pulled up to the main entrance of the dealership. The salesman waved me over and we went for a drive. I had read that audi's need to be broken in gently and I can only imagine how many times this test car has hit redline without proper break in procedure. Nonetheless I took it for a spin. I don't think the salesman was ready for my driving style if I'm honest Despite the car being absolutely massive, it doesn't feel that way when you're driving it. I drove it for 20min and I'm absolutely in love with it. However, there are a few things that I didn't quite like about it. #1 being the interior, it follows audi's old style which doesn't have the cool electronic gauges or all the new tech. Not a big deal but I felt it was worth noting. Also, the steering isn't very communicative but, thats the same with new BMW's now as well so I cant get too held up on that. Anyway, I went back in to talk to the salesman and he told me that the only RS7 they had for sale was that test car I had just thrashed so I asked him when he would get another one. He suggested I spec one out to my liking and wait for it instead of jumping into anything too quickly. Part of me wanted to just get it so I won't be tempted by the R8 any more but I think he's right. What do you guys think, wait months and get perfect spec or jump into a decent spec within the next few weeks? |

Are you joking??
Please see my prior comments. RS7 is literally a king of the road. Almost a sleeper king tho. Imho, possibly best bang for buck, with super car like performance. Expensive as shit. But for what you get?? It's ridiculous. Spec it out for sure. Everyone that drove that test car did the exact same as you. Please...for me. Get that car!!!

The interior is past gen Audi - but I like it. It's simple without fuss with just the right amount of lux without being over the top. Car feels more 'sporty' inside that way (to me). Regarding ordering vs finding a spec - just depends on what you want. I'd first search the web/dealers to see if you can find what you want -- if not and you dont mind the wait, go for it. The car is stunning in Nardo. If I'm not mistaken the one you drove is the performance 605 hp version, on steel springs not air suspension -- correct? Quote:

If you can get into the RS5 looks I think it would be a good fit of performance for the cost but the RS7 is king. You can get the RS7 with lane keep assist, lane change assist, adaptive cruise control, and all those goodies -- not sure what electronics it is missing.

So here's the spec as it sits, It has almost every option in it and its priced at over 150k USD It's getting dangerously close to R8 money.

Just tossing in a left-field contender: Lexus GS-F?
If nothing else, it has that nice n/a V8 and should be reliable!

Great car. I saw this one a couple of weeks ago when I was in driving Porsche's. I really liked this grey matte color with the wheels and carbon fiber package. Even carbon fiber on the exhaust.

If your going this route, check the 2018 Panamera.
The RS7 is great, but old tech is not fun. How can the cheaper models have the new dash and this doesn't? BTW Nardo Grey is the best looking Audi color in the flesh. |

That's what I'm saying. RS7 is awesome but that's pushing new panamera turbo pricing. It would be a very easy choice for me. Interior looks fantastic on the new panamera and they finally fixed the horrendous exterior.

HOWEVER, if you need four doors and want sport, RS7 is amazing (especially w/ performance pack). If I had kids RS7 would be the car. However, it still has the dated Audi interior and not the new look and feel. |
