The design language speaks to Genta's 70s conception but there are a lot of modern updates and refinements that give the RO/ROO ranges an awesome blend of the classic and modern.

Everybody has a limit. I started off wearing a 35mm Patek and a 36mm DJ -- My wrist is under 7" and not flat
Then I started wearing some 40mm models. I realized I can go as large as 42mm so long as the lugs are angled. But 44mm tends to look bad on me regardless of lug design. I think the 42 looks much better on bluebeamer than the 44 does |

can't do that as all of the sports stars who wear AP are quite large. We can't have them wearing Hublots now can we? That would be wrong.

love my black themes, but i'd be super happy if they released a 'refreshed' version with a black date wheel, the AP logo in silvered letters and a glossy black dial ala the H series rubberclad.

If the black themes comes back, I'd buy it in a heartbeat. I don't understand AP marketing. The best watches they let die essentially.

Was it really not selling well? The staff at the boutique I usually go to said it was one of the more popular models because of the neutral colour scheme. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I saw that watch on everyone's wrist practically like the rubberclad. |

Don't forget it's the only "themes" that survived long after the white and blue themes were discontinued.
Plus the new one with red highlights is more or less an extension of it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Nope, Diver was taking sales away, you could even see it on this forum, so many more incomings for the Diver for many years. Little interest in the Black Themes compared to Panda and Safari as well.

i believe it. I picked a diver over a 42mm ROO chronograph myself. The Black Themes was discontinued by then, but if it wasn't i still probably would have gotten the diver. I really like the Black Themes though.

i preferred the old safari to the new. But neither is a black watch. The diver has more mass market appeal for someone wanting a black dial watch because it is a diver, not a chronograph and because it is cheaper.

I went with Elephant and really enjoying it, 44 has big advantage with ceramic bezel but 42 is to me more versatile, added on steel bracelet to wear during summer and feels like two watches when switched from leather one...I guess its down to personal preference you cant go wrong...
