Count me in! I wear a 36mm President (and men's Cart Roadster) because I want to. I like the way it looks on my wrist. ;)

To be frank, I've only seen 2 women wearing men's Rolexes here in the US - one was wearing a DJ and the other was wearing an Explorer 1. In Hong Kong, on past visits, I've seen a lot wearing Subs, GMT's, Daytona's etc.

It seems like it's the style (big watches).

I'm seeing most of the men's rolex models on women's wrists way more than I see those other brands. Actually, when it comes to those other brands, I see the women wearing the women's models, not the mens. It can't be price because IWC/Omega are priced lower than Rolex.

Actually, the only other brand I can compare to Rolex, as far as how attractive their men's models are to women, is Cartier. Cartier's men's models are also very popular with women but it's easy to see why since they're very stylish and fashionable. I would never have put them in the same category as Rolex, which I believe, makes understated working watches. Yet, they're making a big splash with women.

Does anyone have an idea why this is?

My GF is a petite girl (like a size 2 or something) and she has both women's and men's Rolex's.

She wears the men's sized watches 10x more often then women's. She loves them and she looks fantastic wearing them.....

I make sure she has plenty to choose from also so she doesn't wear mine

I agree it suits younger women better. Maybe youthful would be more accurate. It seems to be a playful, casual style. Women are feminized by this look. I think at some level, the sporting of a man's watch trend has grown from "a wearing boyfiend's oversize sweater" infancy. That doesn't impune a woman's right to wear a large watch now, rather I just think that's how the trend started.

By the same token I think men must guard against wearing a watch oversized for the wrist. This is perhaps one of the most feminizing things a man can do. So my wife could probably pull off a panerai, while the sub is probably all I could do with my 6.5 inch wrists.

As an aside. Did anyone catch what kind on rolex hollis green was wearing on big love tonight?

I still trying to get my wife to wear my white dial SS Daytona, so I can get the black dial to go as a pair with her.

But she is only interested in trying on my jean and shirt even they are too big for her

I think girl look sexy with a big watch with smaller wrist

I want to give my Daytona to my daughter when she turns 21 .... she is only 4 now and she really like my GV...

cant see what so big deal about a girl wearing a man's watch. nothing is wrong about it, its not like they cross dressing. i saw elle macpherson wear daytona and it looks fine on her. my eyes doesnt get sore by looking at it. as long as they are happy i dont see any problem with it, unless they started to cross dress and start to act like a man than its another different story.

This hits the nail right on the head. Women like Rolex men's watches because, except for the 40mm and larger models they are small and often more like jewellery than other brands. In short they like them because of the size and bling.

IMHO - it depends on the woman. She has to be able to pull it off. IMHO a 70 yr old bee-hive hairdoo retiree might have trouble pulling the look off as much as a 18-40yr old lady.

All IMHO.

Also think of how repulsive the opposite situation would be....... a man wearing a lady-Date-just with diamond bezel........ fruity pebbles :)

Do you happen to have pics of your wife wearing ss-sub and gmt

That being said, and not tying to eat my own words, but I find it EXTREMELY attractive when a woman wears a men's Rolex. It says to me she makes up her own mind, maybe a tad bit unconventional, but doesn't adhere to what the industry states she must wear (i.e. a "Ladies" style watch). To the laides on TRF, if you wear men's model Rolex's, YOU GO GIRLS!!!
Thats nailed it for me,I like the unconventiality of a girl wearing a gents watch. I personally don't really go for ladies styles, they just aren't 'me'.I do know some ladies who look totally awesome with ladies watches and I could not for a single second see them wearing and suiting a gents watch, its just not their style.
Everyone is different and has tastes that reflect that and wear what is approriate to their own style. My style tends to be quite laid back, with fairly simple clothing so for me I feel a ladies watch wouldn't suit me.

Different strokes for different folks as the saying goes.

Could it simply be because women like the size, weight and looks of a 40mm Rolex? And maybe the heritage and corporate history that comes with the watch?

In short, maybe there's no mystery here - women buy and wear 40mm Rolexes for exactly the same reasons that men buy and wear them?

Big watches make their wrist and arms look thinner.

I am not complaining. It's kind of a fetish of mine...

Ohhhhhh ... I thought the title to this thread read "Why Do Women Like Men With Rolexes So Much" ...

Wow, this is becoming sorta heated!!!I think a 40MM watch looks just as goofy on a female, as a 50MM looks on a male. JMHO. Sorta of like arguing politics. No one ever wins that discussion. So, why don't we all just agree to disagree and wear whatever we want???

i dont mean to be terribly sexist here but this place is mostly guys so i think i'm safe.
maybe its because watches are very much a guy thing, so many women might wear them over other brands purely because it is a rolex and not appreciate them for the same reasons we do.
(a trait that is also very true of alot of rolex wearing men i might add)

Actually, that makes some sense. I had a woman tell me once that she was going to take up "men's" hobbies just to meet them. Her example was golf. In her words, "if you want to meet men, you have to be where they are without competition." Hmmmmmm ........

To chuck in sexual innuendos is totally inappropriate and disrespectful to the wonderful ladies who visit this forum.

I know at least one very fine lady who owns 3 men's models and is very proud of them.

Oversize watches make them appear petite and cute. Not just Rolex but they wear Panerai too. Same as why they wear oversize tops and hang out with bigger friends.

Women are more beautiful and elegant in a Cartier ladys Tank watch. But not all can pull it off. Cheers,

I'm a woman, and I prefer the look of a man's watch on a woman's wrist. I have the ladies' Yachtmaster, and it is perfectly proportionate to my wrist. I don't like the way the face of a man's watch takes up my entire wrist. My husband's Sub is way, way too big on me. I even think the mid-size Yachtmaster is too large for my wrist. (I am 5'8" so am certainly not petite).

I have several female colleagues (and one mother-in-law) who wear the ladies' DateJust, which is even smaller than my ladies' Yachtmaster. The watch looks great on them.

But, of course, taste in watches is subjective, as is taste in clothing, perfume, cars, home decoration, etc. If a woman buys a men's Rolex because she likes it, then good for her.

IMHO I have to admit like the rest of the forum, Women to look great wearing
the Bigger Men's or Midszie watches and as most know it is a growing trend..
Alot of Famous female actors I think look great and pull off the look quite well.
I do agree with most, women do look sexy wearing the larger 40 mm size..
Tho on the reverse, I feel women wearing ladies sized watches look great
too.. Just a personal preference I guess.. Members like Karis, Jen, & Both Lisa's again imho looks great wearing Subs, Explorer II's, datejusts, etc..
One other thought; I have to agree most women wearing Subs, Daytona's
and all look sporty with a bit of elegance.. Here are a few of my favorite,
yet tastefull pics for this topic..
