And today I found out it isn't. I work near Regent Street so walked a little further than the nearest WoS and headed to Bond Street.

My intention was to stop by a few ADs not part of Aurum and try and find out more info on availability.

First point of call was Wempe. About 45 minutes later I walked out proud owner of a new Explorer 1.

I was in at 11.10am release day, no one else had been in so was hopeful of getting my name down first , was told no list and could only register an interest which I did (had 6 Rolex from this AD in 6 years)

Followed up this morning , confirmed the register of interest list was closed today at 100, all names now to be uploaded to the company database then people will be contacted so who knows ......

Was at an AD over the weekend and they stated they have changed their watch policy as follows:

Only sell to locals
Will not sell to suspected flippers
Will not sell to out of state buyers
Will not ship out of state to avoid taxes.

I didnt ask about whether or not they will remove the stickers or hold the warranty card. I am a keeper when I buy so the sticker removal and warranty card hold are not deal breakers to me.

When my SD43 comes in next month, I would have no issue walking out wearing it sticker free.

I went to two ADs in Glasgow they explained to me that I couldn’t get on the list for a green submariner I would have to purchase a Rolex they have for sale currently in store to show I have purchase history with them it’s what Rolex wants they tell me to prevent people buying and selling for a profit.
So hang on a minute you don’t want people to buy and sell for more but these people have previous buying experience with Rolex hmmmm that makes sense.

Also In Thailand they are telling me the same story one rolex AD offered me a new Rolex for 390,000 baht instead of mrrp of 319,000 that is quite a difference.

Also some shops have taken it upon themselves to sell them for 370,00 and 350,000 depends which shop you ask just for clarification 40,000baht is £1000
