you could have written these replies down before starting this thread - very predictable

entirely different watches aimed at different buyers even if you ignore the price

I personally don't like polished centre links on an oyster bracelet so no to BLNR

but like the polished links on an oyster so have ordered the BLRO - delivery 2029 if they have not discontinued by then

I do have a coke 16710 and the tudor GMT on NATO - love them both a lot but the Tudor is clearly a more casual wearing watch especially on NATO, I would not be without either watch in my collection

by the way the tudor GMT is an awesome watch in every way especially for the price

also someone said Tudors never go up in value - ETA black bays are going for way more than I paid for mine back in 2014 - but again not like my 16710 which has doubled in the 3 years I bought it

You would be surprised....

Still too many people will automatically answer rolex

Can’t go wrong with any of them but most here still do not understand Tudor
Probably due to the fact that Tudor isn’t that well known in the US and UK
I believe they reintroduced Tudor in these markets only 7 or 8 years ago

In Europe ( just like Zenith) they are better known and appreciated
Say what?

Tudor is a mid-tier luxury tool watch brand, not Quantum Chromodynamics or string theory. There is nothing to understand. I’d be surprised if the majority here have not seen and handled various Tudors. They are nice watches. Is a BLNR worth double a Tudor GMT? That’s arguable and objectively, probably not. But then objectively the Tudor GMT is not worth 30x more than my G-Shock, but that’s what it costs. So it all comes down to personal preference.

Having said that, you might consider the OP’s actual post has rather a lot to do with the BLNR landslide in this thread. It’s pretty apparent that he prefers the BLNR but is worried about the possibility of a new movement and the putative replacement having a longer PR. Since that is a pretty niche and for most people, minor reason to decide against a watch purchase, the responses reflect this.

My hesitation with the BLNR is not knowing if Rolex will ultimately update the BLNR to include the new 3285 movement w/ the 70 hour power reserve. Personally, that's what I'd love to see. A BLNR with the new movement.

Maybe the 20-22 hour difference in power reserve shouldn't matter, but functionally, for my life and my watch collection, it would make a noticeable difference and it's one of the selling points of the Tudor IMO (In addition to the other aesthetic choices, and the fact I think it is designed to actually be a tool watch as opposed to the more luxurious BLNR).

Maybe I should just get the BLNR as is and be fine with the 48-50 power reserve.

Would love to hear anybody else's thoughts/votes on the matter. To quote Jimmy Buffett, "Indecision may or may not be my problem."

Thanks!
Hi Y'All,

My Advice get both, they are gorgeous watches.

Hi,

The Tudor GMT feels a heck of a lot bigger/heavier mass on your wrist...........but its early days as i have not built up enough wrist time with both yet.

The Tudor fit and finish is beautiful, the only slight concern is the anodized bezel surround which looks easily marked or scratched, i would have preferred a ceramic bezel; but at this price point its ok.

The new Tudor GMT is a great watch with a lovely vintage vibe. But there is no comparison with the BLNR. The BLNR is sophisticated, robust and beautiful - of all the watches I own, including my Daytona, its the one that gets the most comments. You will never grow tired of its beautiful bezel. If you really want a Pepsi, and have the extra cash (which I guess you do as you are considering a BLNR), why not pick up a used 16710? Its a better watch than the Tudor and has real historical kudos - its the original watch that the Tudor GMT is a tribute too.

Get the BLNR......it’s what you want. Pick up the Tudor later. Or wait for a BLRO.......it’ll be 5yrs but hey.... In all seriousness though, get the BLNR. The Tudor is superior to a 16710 in every technical way but not the 116710, movement be damned. The BLNR is the big fish here.

Nice comparison shot, Larry. What, May I ask, is your wrist size? The BLNR Looks tiny compared to the Tudor. Maybe it's the angle or something.

Hi,

My wrist is 7 3/4" , i usually don't have to remove any links or make large adjustments to Bracelets.

The BLNR fitted my wrist perfect straight out the box,

The Tudor GMT out of the box is slightly loose and I will adjust it on the clasp when i get round to it,

Tudor provides plenty of adjustment for Fat Guys like me 6' 3" and 290 lbs

Hahahaha

Its not that great a difference actually, i think its the angle that the photo was taken.

couple of choices. Go for BLNR or BLNR.

Tudor Pepsi should be easier to get once the hysteria wears on.

As other have said both a great watches but the BLNR wins it for me every time. It's a bit like comparing a Porsche Boxster to a 911 GT3

It’s not just the depth, but the pressure exerted on the watch. Here’s a rough guide:

Water resistance: Wearable when water is splashed on the watch where no pressure is placed.

50m water resistance: Wearable around sinks and at activities such as normal swimming, athletic sports, and at shallow waters only. Snorkeling and underwater diving is not allowed.

100m water resistance: Wearable around sinks and activities such as swimming, sports, poolside diving, and snorkeling. Jet skiing and scuba diving are still not allowed.

200m water resistance: Wearable around sinks, swimming, sports, snorkeling, jet skiing, but not scuba diving.

Diver’s watch: Wearable at all above-mentioned activities including scuba diving except at instances and depths where helium gas is needed.

Or, clicks here: https://www.prestigetime.com/page.php?waterresistance

This is absolute bunk and has been thoroughly disproven, such as the pressure myth. That's a blog post from a grey dealer, not an actual WR expert.

I love Tudor, but this isn’t a close call for me. BLNR takes it in a walk. I just don’t love the Tudor bracelet enough for this to be a close call for me, though it’s a fantastic-looking watch.

Is this a serious question? They're both GMT's but that's where it ends. It's like asking a sports car crowd if you should get a 911 or civic...if you have the means for it, definitely get the BLNR.

Are you seriously comparing a $4,000 watch to a Civic???

They are both luxury watches, one is high end, one is mid, but neither is a Honda Civic

I think both can peacefully co-exist in a collection. Agree with many though that directly comparing these watches does not make sense.
