I find this board remarkably refreshing in that almost all Members show another member their support.....
and not "how much for the (insert Rolex model number here)" Relationships are most often best left up to the participants to decide what is best. Marke-I wish you comfort during the holiday season-and a very positive outcome on whatever decisions that you make. Hang in there and the correct course of action will make itself crystal clear with time. Good luck. Harley Earl |

Mark
I'm sorry to read about your personal problems. And though a lot of members have put forward their own opinions. Its only you and your partner who where there at that meeting and know what was said. I would hate to have to part with my watch. But to save my relationship then I would sell it. For me, my relationship is far more important then a watch. I know how much your partner means to you. And I wish you good luck with everything.

I get this all the time. An outside view is objective and nonemotional. Emotions are what get us in these predicaments to begin with. Best of Luck

For what it's worth, my wife and have nearly 11 amazing years of marriage together for one reason only: we adopt each other's passions. I cannot imagine living any other way.
Best of luck to you, and Happy Holidays!

do not have a mortgage, do not have credit card debts with her. have not used any joint savings for any of the watches, I have my own savings beside the watches. my own personal debts are well under control, my company is doing fine and does not have any bad debts or cashflow problems along with money in the Bank. i own my car and truck outright. Decided that she is worth more to me than the watches and would rather invest that money in our future together and to be finacially secure, As previously stated in the heated argument, i openly admit i could not see the wood for the trees and i should have listened to what she wanted. We both said things we regret, but once they are said the damage is done.and you cannot take it back. With regards to the diamond, was tempted to ask the "" question before all this blew up and had already started to look at diamonds and had picked out a 1ct brilliant cut, f grade, VVS1 with excellent colour and symetry, and you are right its about a daytona,,,,, in the big picture, so that about it |

Mark I have said it Before and will say it again because some people seem to think that you are hiding something.
Sometimes women want to be noticed, loved, feel special etc etc. And Mark is admitting his faults and realising that his watches are to big a distraction for him and is PART of the problem that he is know trying to fix. Good on you.

I've only two things to say about this thread.
First I hope the situation works out for you Mark, but you need to think things through very carefully. Second there is nothing on the planet that would persuade me to discuss a subject such as this on an internet forum. Mods - maybe one for closure?

I am thinking in this thread ,the wife ,girlfriend whatever wan'ts to own a home. This is not a trivial expense in the UK. Half million pounds is a lot of
money and you don't get a mansion with that either. This is the only scenario that makes sense, and warrants this kind of attitude. I am thinking she is right, who needs that many watches still in boxes, unworn, Can we say OCD? Obviously Marke has reached a certain level of success in his life, now it's time for the next step. The economy world wide is @#!& ed up and Britain is no different it will take courage, and commitment from both. I know that I am perhaps a little rude to say it like this, and quite likely wrong as well. All the best this holiday season at any rate, good luck |
