My travel is generally: go somewhere, stay there 3-15 days, go home. I set my watch to local time and know how may hours different home is since I had between 3 and 14 hours to figure it out change the time and on the plane. Nothing against the Rolex GMT or any other but I found myself never using the function.

I went for the Tudor GMT but I just couldn't get into it... Sold it and regretted it so just got a 16710. Don't want the 126710 now!

I'm beginning to see the light.. a 16710 is looking mighty good

Specially since I already have a ceramic sub.. might as well have some variety

Are there any guidelines on what to look for when buying a vintage, or just used piece?

The price ranges for 16710 are pretty big

My Bamford has arrived and I'm not disappointed.

Very nice watch. Very nice packaging. Nice company to deal with.

The sapphire covers the face and the bezel. The black is even. In the photo, the incident light has given it a false patchy appearance.

Good choice, took me about 6 months to do my research and prices went up about £500 by then. The rule on here I'm sure you know is to buy the seller. There's lots of topics on 16710 buying guide but just make sure everything is original. Like me, if you purchase a holes case you want to ensure the watch has not been over polished. Look out for the Rolex coronet on the clasp to ensure it's not been over polished, ensure bracelet is original... The more vintage you go the more cautious you need to be (unless you're one of the experts on this forum)

Good luck.

A few years ago I was looking for a GMT that I could take anywhere looked at Explorer, GMT Master. Went with this!White face and rotating bezel. And the 300m water resistance doesn’t hurt either..

What are your GMT Alternatives? ..

I love my Rolex GMTs. My favorite complication but nothing has been better than my Patek 5164a when it comes to travel.
