The best "toy" I have ever had. An exact copy of the legendary 1957 Porsche speedster.

Mine is the sign near the US / Mexico border. It was the subject of controversy... It was put up because in the 80's, the illegals would be running on the freeways and were getting killed...

Umm, 3 guesses... he he

Well, I was always a Ferrari man, and used to crap on Porsches, then an opportunity arose (let's call it a sackfull of money!) so I bought one.

NOW I understand what all the fuss is about.... I read a great quote on my Porsche forum... from a guy who swapped over to Porsche from sports bikes... "an air-cooled Porsche is about 8.5/10 the fun of a big sports bike"

My avatar is B.F. Skinner, deceased Harvard psychology professor, reknown for creating "operant conditioning," also referred to as "instrumental conditioning." Skinner extrapolated on Thorndike's Law of Effect which basically states that those responses which produce satisfying consequences tend to be repeated. *He believed in using reinforcement (positive and negative), punishment and extinction in close temporal contiguity to a desired behavior to shape the response, i.e., "successive approximations to the desired goal." (This had tremendous implications for the fields of behavior therapy & teaching among many others.) Responsible for experimental analysis of behavior and operant conditioning chamber (Skinner box).

*Punishment is not synonymous with negative reinforcment. Punishment is the addition of an aversive stimulus to shape behavior, while negative reinforcment involves the removal of a negative stimulus to influence the response. (Hope this wasn't too technical.)

Life, or certainly this post, would have been much simpler had I simply left the picture of my dog as my avatar.

my avitar means ... well just read about it here
REVELATION 13:6 And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads:

17 And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.

18 Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six.

REVELATION 14:9 And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in his forehead, or in his hand,

10 The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb:

11 And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name.

Ignore my earlier post which featured B.F. Skinner as my avatar. Four different TRFers inquired about what happened to my dog avatar. So B. F. Skinner has been ousted by my trusty (and of course, beloved) Jack Russell, Taffi Abernathy Swymbrydge. She's much cuter, don't you think?

Faith, your little dog is so cute. Thank's for changing your avatar and challenging my mind. I did do a quick look up on your old one.

Mine is my "family crest". I got into it after I found an old letter from the Franciscan monks (or whatever) addressed to my grandfather many years ago in some old boxes. It was an old and typewritten plea to him looking for money. It included a picture of the "O'Neill" family crest and it's history. I don't know if he sent any money to the Franciscan's, but I did manage to find a wooden carved crest to display in my household. Since I am adopted I didn't dig too deep into this. However, I did like the fact there was a crest for my surname. There it is. That's all.
