With all-due respect, I don't think it's nonsense. AP has sponsored and collaborated with athletic from NBA, MLB, Racing, Yachting. Not to mention music genre from popular musicians such as Bruno Mars, Quincy Jones, John Mayers, just to name a few. The AP brand was mentioned in numerous billboard top 100 songs. It had its own Beats headset for heaven sake.

AP may be more well-known than you expected.

**maybe take a point off cus of John Mayers

that is true with the newest model 116500LN, market prices now are just crazy!! I can't defend it nor would I want to. But for 116520 now lands steadily around $15k, I just don't see how it will go down in value let's say 10 years down the road.

For the sake of argument that Daytona's market price does go down. Based on it's track record in the last 40 years...you will still keep majority of its value, disregard whether you bought it at retail.

Thanks! Have you try on the 38mm yet? Different feel than the 26331.

I tried both as well and 41 is too big for me. I have other watches up to 44mm and the APs 38 feels like 40mm at Rolex.
The more i look at grey on silver, the more i want one

Looks great on you, congrats.

Would love to see this with a black ceramic bezel and black rubber strap. Then it might beat the Daytona.

Amazing watch. But roughly £15k more than Daytona so can’t really compare them!

Can someone tell me why this watch looks SO thick at 11mm vs. other watches that are thicker (e.g. Daytona or Sub or GMT II)? That's my only problem w/ this watch.

It’s actually not thick and feels very close in size to my 116520.

Agreed it doesn't look so bad in that pic but in some of the pics at below link it looks 13mm+ like a 5990

Very similar in thickness; Daytona has a lower bezel height, giving the impression that it’s a thinner watch.

As durable as a Daytona, not a chance! Prettier, certainly

Great looking watch and congrats to all the new owners. Hopefully, no Daytonas were destroyed in the creation of this thread.

Really like the 38mm ROCs. Regardless of all the complaints about not being all in house the FP1185 really is a fantastic movement while staying thin at the same time, rare for a chrono. Really cool for 1.2 mm thicker than my 15400 it packs a chrono.

Love those oversized crown pushers! Timeless beauty! Looks great on you! (At this shot angle the Rolex looks better than AP)
