They are 2 weeks in with a 8 to 10 week turnaround. Just I. Time to rock it on the wrist for summer.

Looking forward to seeing the finished watch and bracelet. (Subscribed) Are they able to fix the lug hole for you?

I wonder if the wear is caused from using SS spring bars and has worn/elongated the lug hole over the years.

The Lugs are going to get beefed up a bit. I am excited as well. I am hopeful to receive the watch by thee end of March fingers crossed.
I’m sure steel spring bars don’t help.

It's on eBay now.

$7,000.00 bid with 1.5 days left. 90 watchers.

Thanks for having my back and trying to make me look like a scumbag, but little do you read. You must have missed the part where I had this watch restored at almost 2500 and paid 6700 for the watch. So ya I guess I must be flipping it for a big profit with it sitting at 7 grand.

Thank you for asking. All set and looks amazing. Most that see it swear they thought it was a quickset.
Right now it is on Ebay and I am also in talks with some in regards to trading or selling.
Who knows what I will be doing.

Just curious about why the desire to sell, especially after getting it restored? It looks really good but it did seem from only a few posts before that you were pretty keen to keep it. What changed?

Honestly at the end of the day I may just end up keeping it. I never thought it would be so tough to get rid of a president and or maybe the right deal just hasn't come my way. I have been contacted by 3 scammers and have had some offers some of which are better than others. It has been a learning experience for sure. There are so many damn scammers out there, loads with scumbags.

I was surprised to see you put it up especially with the possibility of losing money or breaking even.

It looks wonderful and with the decision of swapping the dial or the hands to complete the look; I think enjoying it for a little bit is worth it.

I think you did a great job of rescuing a vintage piece. Enjoy it!

You can always use the forum classifieds to sell it at a later time.

I went that avenue here already and was bombarded by scammers and or at least they played to be.

Wow, didn't know. I figured maybe someone following this thread would be interested. Bummer.

I guess the only way is a face to face which carries risks, or finding someone here that's above board.

I love it after the restoration! I'd change the dial. But it's out of my wheelhouse.

Thank you. Times are tough for some folks especially with the uncertainty day to day of everyone’s well being in all aspects of ones life. The fallout is of likes of which we haven’t seen. Times are unprecedented at the moment.

I really am tempted to source the hands and slap a beautiful blue Buckley dial on it.

Sorry, I guess typed text doesn't convey intent...I don't have a problem with flipping.

I was updating the person who asked for an update.

Ebay has tightened their policies in recent years... If you end the auction early, you'll be responsible for the final value fee based on the high bid at the time the auction is ended (10% or $750, whichever is less). However, sellers are allowed forgiveness for doing this once per calendar year. You bristled at a poster's earlier criticism of flipping... The watch is yours to do with as you please, but manipulating potentially disappointing ebay auction results isn't exactly upstanding.

It would be pretty hard, but I guess it really does sound like something happened/changed and you really fell out of love with it. Very nice watch regardless, hope you do what makes you happy

Just deal with someone reputable like Jacek if you really want to offload it. You'll get a slightly lower price selling it to a dealer, but for me the peace of mind is worth that money.

See what happens, but I agree it is the best option with best peace of mind.

Just saw this 1803 at Bernard Watch for a great price including a bracelet with all of its links and the refinished dial isnt a big deal since original dials are easy to come by. Lugs look pretty thick too.

Im not affiliated with them at all, just passing on what I think is a great deal.

Ad states “matching hands”? Matching what, exactly? A completely different dial style?

It is definetly a nice project, the price you paid make it very open to invest in some refurbishing, having the very rare wide boy handset I would recommend you to look for a Wide Boy dial, Michael will return your bracelet like new and the proper dial will increase the value a lot.
Enjoy the search and the nice watch! Good Catch! Post the results please!

Funny because I was about to buy this watch just before seing this thread...
I guess I still need to be more careful about vintage pieces ! I did rely on Jacek for giving the right info about the watch but I guess I was wrong anyway I'm glad I didn't pull the trigger.
Seems to be a bargain at first.
