SD43 easy unless your wrist is 6 inches.

You didn't wimp out, that was your first choice. Congrats.

Sub just about fits under cuff. But usually gets stuck, SD won't unless you wear oversize cuffed shirts. Neither are typically smart biz long sleeve shirt kind of watches. More an OP, DD, Cellini type thing.

Hope the choice is an enjoyable one!!

My wrist is 7.5 inches. I have the SD43 and Hulk. I can tell you that the SD43 is a better watch for me. The Hulk feels anemic on my wrist compared yo the SD43. I took out the diver extension and it feels comfortable.

It doesn’t matter to me which dial it is because I am passing all my watches down to my daughter and son.

My thinking was to buy the sub. If I felt It was too small I could sell it easier and trade up to the sd43 then to get the sd43 and feel it was too thick or heavy.

I wore a SubC date as my daily for almost 3 years, then got the SD43, no comparison, the SD has much better presence, and stands out quite a bit. I found myself not wearing the Sub as at all and ended up selling it.

I keep hearing this. I’m just worried about it being too thick.

My business partner is interested in getting a sub. I think I could sell it to him quite fast. I got it for 9k. I think I would at least break even on it. It’s dated 12-2018. Full set. I think I had to scratch this itch first. I guess time will tell.

If only you could walk in to an AD and try one on. First it was the SS shortage of 2019 and now Covid-19 in 2020.

I sort of agree with this. My wrist is just under 6.5, and I think my sub looks perfect. That said, I often wonder why folks north of 7 inches would prefer a sub over an SD43.

I never tried on an SD43, but I did have a deep sea on my wrist, and it was massive. Particularly the width.

Damn you all. Lol. I just couldn’t help myself and got both. TRF is a bunch of enablers. Haha. Anyways I prefer the SD43. I wish it was slightly thinner but I get used to it a little more everyday. The weight is a non issue. Comfort level is slightly less then a submariner but the trade off is worth it as the SD43 is a sexy watch. I put the sub on a rubber b to justify having both for now.

SD43 over a black Sub unless you wear mostly suits or long sleeve shirts. Best combo is a Hulk or Kermit, and SD43, as best of both worlds in my opinion. (I forgot I already commented in this thread before , nevermind doesn't hurt to comment again) especially after actually buying an SD43.

sub is boring and ubiquitous

most of the non watch collectors buy sub just for rolex name and only own one watch.

fakes like to produce sub as well, because thats what most fake owners demand

We do not talk about fake anything in the Rolex watch forum just a warning this time.

Definitely Sub40 Not SD43

The larger size makes the SD43 what I call a "bump & scratch target". After just one year of daily wear the SD43 will look 5 years older than the Sub40 because of the many more bumps and scratches it will have.

Both are great watches, but the SD43 just has something special.
