If it is a plain black sub, I think it is fine to wear with a suit. I wear my datejust with a suit and not my 114060, but I have seen much worse!

So with this thinking is being utilized as a tool watch/daily too low brau for the sub? Because it gets worn with whatever I’m wearing. If it’s a t-shirt and jorts working in the yard or in a tux at a foundation dinner. My sub is always with me.

Stop it with the bluesy! I am getting closer to getting one. I have the 114060 and datejust blue dial. Getting close to getting the white dial Daytona in. Do you think adding the bluesy to my collection is crazy when I have another blue dial already and a sub? The sky-dweller TT with champagne bezel would work better I think with my collection, but I like the bluesy better.

Also to address this silly nonsense that associates taste and culture with being a gentleman. I know many a gentleman that make <40k a year and an Apple Watch is the best thing they can afford. They’re some of the best guys I know. I also know guys that own Swiss invictas that are proud as hell of it. Those same guys were the ones that stepped up and helped me when I needed it. They’re outstanding people. Your watch does not define you. You define your watch.

You can’t go wrong with a “bluesy”. Most versatile, beautiful watch Rolex makes.

I agree. I have always loved it and I think it is the best looking sub in my opinion, and that is coming from a 114060 owner. Thanks for the input.

I think it looks fine! In non-pandemic times, I wear a suit to the office and love wearing the GMT. For a lot of people, a Rolex sports watch is the nicest watch they own, so naturally they will reach for it when they are wearing a suit.

I would love a nice Patek, Lange, JLC, etc, but it's hard for me to tie up money on a watch just for suits. I tried it with a cheaper Hamilton, but it pained me to throw my cheapest watch on with my nicest clothes.

For those who are more traditional, do you have a spot in your collection for these occasions? Is it a $20K+ luxury dress watch, a cheaper watch, or something else? Or maybe it's no watch at all!

All Apple watches are made in China (COVID-19 Central) depriving Americans of jobs, a fair wage for a fair days work throughout the US.

The practice actually started in WW1 I believe. Originally we sent jobs to countries we defeated to stimulate their economies. This started the idea that we can get cheaper labor outside of the US. It continued with WW2 (occupied Japan, West German marked items) then Korea which is when China first got a little from us. Vietnam, next thing you know they’re making shoes and the like. We created this problem. Not by us trying to help other countries after the devastation of war, but by the greed of Americans to make as much money they can as possible with no regard to the outcome of their actions. China is biting at our heels as the largest economy in the world. They also own a metric blank ton of our debt. We as Americans created this problem. We are all for the most part greedy. Shopping for the best deal, not buying American, saving every buck we can. This has only helped the countries that produced each and every product we own. It’s actually hard to find American made items these days. So the problem perpetuates itself.

Agreed. As the saying goes don't judge a book by its cover or a person on how he dresses and which watch he wears.

The suit itself is more important than the watch.

If you're wearing an old wrinkled, out-of-style, ill-fitted, off the rack, $150 suit with stains on it, that's an issue. Doesn't matter what kind of a watch you're wearing. You're going to look bad.

If you're wearing a new fitted custom suit that's highly fashionable, then you're going to look fantastic with a black dial Submariner on your wrist. Shoes, shirt and tie matter too...
