The sneaker thing came from a running joke amongst the immediate family. We have 3 sons....19,22, and 25 and they have all the latest and greatest sneakers (which my wife usually buys for them or they order off Amazon) whereas I usually wear beat up old running shoes. My wife started chiding me about the crappy sneaks I wear and took me shopping a couple of weeks ago and we picked up a pair of really cool looking Adidas (Allbirdish looking running shoes) but she wanted me to buy 2 or 3 pair and was rolling her eyes that I spent so much time shopping and trying on shoes only to buy one pair (despite her encouragement to buy more). My middle son came home from Medical school last weekend....saw the new pair of sneaks I bought and was like "whoah....those are coool......when did Dad get those!!!" He wants a pair like mine now! (they are pretty cool) So it became kind of a joke. So after dinner I wasn't surprised when my wife said she picked up another pair of sneaks for me since she wanted me to buy more than one pair in the first place and I was like "sure....whatever". But inside the box.............
