agreed!
the glidelock is what I miss the most after getting my subs. would love to purchase one to install onto my 216570 and it would get more wrist time again

im not 100% sure, but wouldn't this be the first titanium rolex? I honestly don't see them going away from there coveted oystersteel.

seems like its the year of the titanium speculation, first I read about the new 5711(6711?!) that so many are expecting to be in titanium, now this?!

would certainly set the explorer line apart from the rest

When Rolex comes out with these new Explorer models, there will be greater demand for these hot models. Rolex can do no wrong! Can’t wait.

Sinn looked in the mirror one morning and mistook themselves for Shimano.

I really don’t think they should lose the steel bezel whatever they do, otherwise it just becomes another black ceramic bezel Rolex and there’s enough of those already.
Ceramic will do nothing for the either the looks nor the robustness of the design so why use it.

It doesn't matter what Rolex does.

People here will worship it and yell loudly how absolutely amazing Rolex design teams are.

They could literally just use a different shade of black on the numerals and people will go insane screaming how no one has ever done this. All hail the king.

I think Omega has cheapened the brand image with all their "anniversary editions" and "special editions".

Rolex shouldn't go that direction. Just my 2c.

Maybe, but it has also been 10 years since the 216570 was released, it wouldn’t be a bad thing to have some kind of update

A lot of us do find that irritating. I started with Omega before I got into Rolex, and I’m probably going back to Omega for my next watch, resale value be damned.

All of these mock-ups are hideous to me, but I also think the ExpII is the ugliest watch Rolex makes. My opinion.

i find expy 2 almost perfect in terms of appearance. i do hope for it’s 50th commemorative issue, rolex introduces new movement to improve it’s power reserve. other minimal changes are welcome like something green in the dial.

IWC and Panerai also come to mind.

why ugliest? there must be some kind of objective bases? i guess such claim is not purely subjective coz you compared it to the other rolexes

All it needs is a big green GMT hand . Understated Rolex style. Maybe some Green Text.

I’m guessing they go titanium.

I hope, if they go ceramic bezel, they go full lume around the Bezel.

If the mantra is legibility, full lume would fit that motif.

If these mock ups are correct, we are seeing a convergence on a design language that is uniform across their professional watches to the point that they are no longer distinguishable, IMO.
