I’m kind of shocked that the SS Daytona has now gone up $2150 in just two years since I got mine for $12400. Not 100% positive I would have asked for one at the current $14550.
Rolex price increases have never been about inflation, more demand driven I would say. At least in the US we had an almost decade long period of no price increases, now two hikes in two years just like the “old days.” I am happy that the only piece I’m waiting on, an OP41, was just barely raised. I am grateful that I got my last three pieces before the price hikes.

Yeah buying at $14k and they sell for 30k (if you had to) who'd do that?

I have a feeling Rolex will crank up production on the OP line in 2022 as the price increase was minimal compared to SS professional models. Since Rolex wants to keep the OP as an 'affordable', entry-level reference, it's only logical that it should be more accessible than a Daytona or a GMT-Master. Which isn't really the case right now with the popularity of stella dials.

As much as Id like for you to be right, the OPs right now are just too good of a buy and probably the best value in all watches. In turn it's not a high margin item for Rolex and I can't see them ramping up production for it as it will cannibalize their other models. You would take a regular OP41 at it's price over any smooth bezel SS they make MG, AK, DJ, Exp 1-2, maybe even SeaDwellers.

It also doesn't make sense to raise the MSRP to be above a DJ. I would say it's more likely they discontinue the Stella's and/or continue to limit supply.
