The hulk isn’t the one that confuses me. It’s the baby blue Tiffany wannabe Op that’s 30k.

As a Hulk owner.... I would rate the black sub above the hulk. But there is simply way more supply of black subs.

The one on David SW is a 2011 model. My post says "late model Hulks", which means like 2021-2018 production.

David has sold Hulks for $35,000 also.

Touché. But let’s be honest, there is no difference between a 116610 LVC from 2011 or 2021. The only difference is the date stamped on the card and the fact the newer one has some factory warranty. So if a person is stupid enough to pay the price differ for the same watch with a newer warranty card then that’s on them. As a owner of the 116610 LVC I personally think the aftermarket pricing is crazy. I picked mine up when they use to sit in the cases and an AD couldn’t move them

Interesting, will have to check. I have a 2012 and a 2018 (which is fully stickered and in the safe since the day I bought it). Contemplating selling one actually

The Hulk is a great watch but you have to like all that green for it to work for you. Forget investment and value as in the end you are “wearing” the watch so it’s unique style has to work for you. As far as public appeal, today you see just as many that hate the look as there was 5 years ago. It’s just a green Sub so no reason to hate it unless you hate the Submariner. I took a lot of negative responses when I had mine before the FOMO came on board and made the watch more popular on social media. After 1.5 years of ownership it was just too much green for me at one time. It’s a very polarizing watch and why it was never as popular as the classic black model and it’s also why it appeals to the few that it calls to.

Because the traditional black Sub is so iconic is what turns many off the Hulk. In the end, you can’t make someone like the all green Hulk Submariner if all they see is a “yuck, a green Sub”.
Same goes for loving it because it’s so different UNLESS you really love the many shades of green all the time.

These are certainly crazy times...

Regarding the Hulk, no, I don't think it will ever surpass the Daytona. That said, I certainly wouldn't be surprised to see the price tide continue to rise.

I loathed the Hulk when it came out, with a passion! Even the nickname was off putting. All this time later and I find myself liking it more and more to the point that I badly want one. I don't understand why.

Um....where is OP getting their pricing from? There are 20 of these on Ebay for in the 20s, LMFAO.

They have been selling for $25k on there in terms of actual sold listings....meaning after the 10-12 % Ebay takes it's much less.

Ebay is not an accurate representation of the watch market since most buyers wouldn't touch a watch from Ebay, this is why prices are listed lower. Also almost half the listings aren't "Authenticated" watches. Chrono24 and reputable dealers like DavidSW is a more accurate representation of fair market value.

Ebay you can see who the seller is. See how many watches they sold in the past months. Their store location. Reviews. And more importantly the price history. Of actually sold items.

I have no issues buying from eBay. Chrono24 I can't see what things are sold for. So I don't use it.

Then you must not be on the forums very much since Chrono24 is referenced or mentioned daily on Rolex threads.

Oh it’s mentioned… ghost listings and inflated asking prices. But use it as your resource to see what you should pay or sell for, you will be disappointed on both counts.

I love my Hulk above any other watch I own. Rolex will never put a Sundial again on a stainless steel sport watch. They will be reserved for PM watches only. The Hulk will only keep going up. Stop hating.

I will never say never. I agree with you, but let's say 99% Rolex won't bring back a green dial on a steel sports watch again. 1% if that happens it will be in a different way than the Hulk, and for sure not on a Maxi case again. For sure both scenarios The Hulk will continue going up.

Sundial? By that, do my mean sunburst? Sport watch? By that, do you mean a Rolex Professional watch.

Yacht-Master still comes with both grey and blue sunburst dials. Milgauss Z-Blue still has a blue sunburst dial. I suppose it is possible that these dials will not be available on future models but it is equally possible that they will be.

Is there a particular reason why you say Rolex will discontinue sunburst dials on Professional models? If that is what you actually said.

Okay, I’m not a Rolex linguists or experts like you guys. I was told by several Rolex “experts” that the Sundial/sunburst, whatever you want to call it won’t be available anymore on S/S Subs. Sorry for confusing a few of you Rolex experts guys out there. Carry on.

That’s pretty interesting. Wouldn’t surprise me if they did this. I’m curious how this info came out before Rolex released it .

Experts? People who work for Rolex? AD buyers who have disclosed to you confidential advanced information?

Did they say "Sport watch" or "S/S Subs"? Your narrative seems to be shifting around.

What I think he meant to say was the Hulk is possibly the last all steel sports watch Rolex with a sunburst dial, and certainly the only steel Submariner that I can think of that has ever had a sunburst dial. The yacht master if I'm not mistaken doesn't come in all steel and the Milgauss is not considered a true sport/diving watch.

It does seem like Rolex is moving towards only offering sunburst dials on precious metal watches and has been a topic or discussion for quite some time on the forums.
