It's probably in bad taste to post this now, but it looks like Michael has been addicted to Demerol for some time now. This wasn't hard to dig up

http://www.cuttingedge.org/news_updates/nz2063.htm

"Cops are secretly investigating allegations by former aides that Jacko, 47, is hooked on anti-depressants and painkillers. They say he pops up to 40 pills a day — and was seen falling flat on his face after injecting himself with a mystery drug."

http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage...t-moments.html

"An Emergency Room source at UCLA hospital said Jackson aides told medics he had collapsed after an injection of potent Demerol — similar to morphine."

Heres to a great entertainer who certainly entertained with great music and awesome video clips, exemplary charity work, take away the haziness of his life in the last couple of years and he still is the King Of Pop to me, We're going to miss you Michael!!!!!!

PS Steve has said it perfectly about a man who certainly will be a legend for many many years to come - http://www.rolexforums.com/showpost....2&postcount=19

American Cancer Society
Angel Food
Big Brothers of Greater Los Angeles
BMI Foundation, Inc.
Brotherhood Crusade
Brothman Burn Center
Camp Ronald McDonald
Childhelp U.S.A.
Children's Institute International
Cities and Schools Scholarship Fund
Community Youth Sports & Arts Foundation
Congressional Black Caucus (CBC)
Dakar Foundation
Dreamstreet Kids
Dreams Come True Charity
Elizabeth Taylor Aids Foundation
Juvenile Diabetes Foundation
Love Match
Make-A-Wish Foundation
Minority Aids Project
Motown Museum
NAACP
National Rainbow Coalition

The Sickle Cell Research Foundation
Transafrica
United Negro College Fund (UNCF)
United Negro College Fund Ladder's of Hope

I'd say that's an impressive list. http://www.allmichaeljackson.com/charities.html

This guy shaped an entire genre of music and influenced many of the artists today. Very sad day for so many around the world.

The man died an untimely death. He wasn't perfect in his life, just like the rest of us. While we don't have to agree with some of his actions, is it possible to just demonstrate a modicum of respect? It's what you and I would want for our own family members. Thank you.

Man in the Mirror
lyrics and follow it.

Its time for all of us to do what he said, "if you want to make the world a better place you need to take a look at yourself and make a change."

Hopefully you will be a better person

I'm hearing it everywhere this morning.. his choices, his actions, his life-style....good grief, the world's gone crazy!!!

Truly & with all due respect, there's only so much sanctimonious claptrap one can swallow about a person like him

I believe the media has done a fair job of giving the family some space at the moment. I believe the media is paying homage to one of the most influential artists of an era. People are celebrating his life still into these wee hours of the morning. Stars are coming forward and sharing their reactions to the untimely end.

This man did so much for race relations, developing a culture, and contributing to the betterment of society no matter what his personal issues may have been.

But like I said, from my perspective, the media has definitely been giving the family space, but they still are paying homage to this unexpected and great loss.

He transcended music and every race and color had one thing in common....King of Pop!

You see these large concerts with people of different cultures and race....they forget racism for that one night to see Michael perform.

The crazy thing is that all of us had probably danced to a Michael Jackson song.

I never personally met Michael, but I have seen him. I wasn't the biggest fan of his music, but he had a truly electrifying vibe about him.

It's too bad that he was obviously a bit troubled. He looked so unhealthy, almost zombie-like, it's not really surprising this would happen to him.

The best criminals stay out of jail. How many crimes do you know of that goes unsolved and now we're penalizing Michael on the mistakes he made during his lifetime. Thanks alot pal.

Unlike you, I'm not going to hide behind some hypocritical claim of having due respect. I'm just going to tell you to shut up and get out.

I've already given you six points for your contentious post about Satan. Go on, just give me a reason to give you another six. Please.

"But teacher, the other kids do it too!"? Don't go insulting anyone with that pathetic excuse of an apology.

Now get out of my sight.

Whatever happened behind closed doors, we may truly never know, we may have an inkling or our own ideas on what went on but we do not know for certain.

The man had the freedoms of all of us, right or wrong he was never convicted of these allegations and the truth may never rear it's head.

The thing is, no matter how you feel about these allegations or his personal life or the rumours of weirdness...he is now gone!

One of the most talented and awe inspiring musicians and performers of all time.

He wasn't just an American...the entire world saw him as one of their own...his music is know throughout the world, his name is identifiable in all corners of the world.

I grew up with him being the biggest star on the planet and the trio of albums with QJ (Off the Wall, Thriller and Bad) are probably the greatest consecutive pop records of all time.

His influence today on your boys bands, Timberlakes and Britneys can be seen and many of these modern "R&B" performers would have given anything to perform with him.

The star may have faded somewhat in recent times but it hasn't diminished the legacy of his talents.

It's sad...his death would always be controversial, not only in circumstances but in the way people eulogized or demonized him but that isn't the point.

He has left behind some private, loving siblings and his own children, I feel for them.

It is one thing about having an honest opinion, it's quite another thing to disgrace yourself without any compunction for other people's feelings in your unrelenting hate campaign, congrats on both accounts.

Now that you are gone I hope you are at peace too.

He's the epitome of Popular Music. The beats incorporated in his Thriller album marks the era of electronica which rose to a feverish height right up to today.

His dance moves. Not many recording artistes are able to pull this off today --- given that one concentrated talent is enough to tire an individual out. MJ can never be replaced....

Love him for who he was, the joy he brought into the halls of our schools, homes, pubs, discos, malls, walkmans, discmans, ipods for the reason why his album(s) sold that well is because he was a talent at musical providence.

The audible and visual senses he catered to all in essence was a greater good for the world.

Any and everyone has their skeletons in their closets, it was his prominence as a public figure that led to speculations, stereotypical installations of truth and lies all packed into a media circus --- don't believe everything you read for there are personal reasons behind them.

He provided and he left ---- that's the story of his life.

Now anyone wanna guess how many Rolexes he own? :)

Not an attack or a defense of anyone in particular. But, it's soooooo easy to get hooked on any type of pharmaceutical(s). It's just so much easier to get through the day/night with the help of a single or combination of pharmaceutical(s). It's the ultimate crutch so to speak.

Things like this can happen:

Doctor's may write out indications of: Take two pill's every "x" amount of hours and it's easy for a patient to go above the indicated amount (not saying this was M.J.'s case).

I have no idea what artist's go through, but stress seems to follow them everywhere.
