I prefer stick indices with either black, blue, or silver. How do others feel about the Wimbledon Dials in general? Would you wear one or are you like me where I appreciate it but I wouldn't buy it.

I feel the Wimbledon dial screams I am wearing a mid priced Rolex! And if that is what you want, great. I feel there are many other DJ configurations that make more subtle, more elegant, and/or more powerful statements than the Wimbledon versions.

YMMV but you asked for opinions…

I prefer sticks and I'm not a fan of the slate dial shade, so for me it's a no.

Personally not a fan of that 9 o’clock marker which seems to not agree at all with the rest of the dial design.

Where did the information about this idea of gold under the print arise from? I've never seen anything about it... just people with questions about it.

I read it the same place, as you. It seems reasonable, though, as all Rolex watches have 18 k gold hands and hour markers. Next time I visit my AD, I’ll ask.

I have what's best described as "a strong dislike" of the Wimbledon dial.

I don't have a huge issue with roman numerals on the right watch, but it's the lonesome and massive lumed stick marker at 9 that just KILLS it for me. Weirdest design ever IMO.

My cousin had one, the dial is actually hard to read, it wasn’t one of his favourites, when he offered it to me I passed.

I think it’s stunning. I was vaguely intrigued until I tried it on, fluted bezel and jubilee, it looked fantastic. I like many of the DJ range but this is one of the more interesting ones and is high up on my want list

I have one, and absolutely love it. I have several sports models so the roman numerals give some variety to my collection. It is a stunning watch in person. Not sure it would be my only watch, but as a collection it is terrific.

I'm more into the classic stick indices with black, blue, or silver dials. The Wembledon dial with the dark dial and Roman numerals is definitely unique, but its just not my style.

I’m not against Roman numerals dial but the grey so-called “Wimbledon” is just dull.
What makes it worse is the border of the roman numerals. Some people like this kind of material and green-ish color. But to me it looks so plastic like a cheap toy watch.
I was offered one back in June and I turned it down as soon as I saw it in person.

Wow! This is a polarizing dial. Some very strong opinions. I love it, though I agree the one stick marker was an odd design decision, and added, merely to provide a little light, in the dark. I don’t get the plastic looking comment, about the lacquered Romans. I like them. Still in the running, for my next Rolex!

Going by the online photos or renders of the Wimbledon dial I wasn’t a fan, then I saw it in person and had to have it.

Interesting thread.
I don’t want to like it but I’m constantly drawn to it. I’m considering a DJ41 TT for my collection. I like green, so I’m partial to it.
I’m just waiting for prices to drop so I can purchase one. I’m sick and tired of reading/hearing that prices are dropping… Where?

I really like this dial myself. And I will admit it's sometimes tough to read in darker environments, in the right light, it is a thing of beauty, IMO.

That weird solo Lume plot at 9

destroys this dial. Otherwise, it's lovely.

Are those numerals just painted on the Wimbledon dial?
