I’m off to Florida and will be wearing a Rolex, it’s why I purchase watches, to enjoy them. They are insured and if push comes to shove I hand over my watch.

Well that would be the perfect scenario if you had the option to just turnover your watch.

I saw a fella with a YG DD walking around Carnaby Street in London the other week. Spotted a BLNR on Jubilee on the London Underground as well. Make sure it’s insured and off you go!

Welcome to our State! Have a great Holiday! Which part are you visiting?

I was in Marbella and London last week. Had my AP 43 Offshore on 24/7 and walked everywhere. No issues.

In Holland its well known to keep your jewelry (Rolex) at home when going to Ibiza. This is known for some years now, but obviously kept on the down low. If you ask one of the two Rolex dealers in Amsterdam they will give you the same answer.

It's mostly gangs that are on the island for the busy months

Will you miss it if it gets stolen? Just wear a cheapo watch and forget about it.

safe to take our watches to Ibiza ?

i don’t understand these posts that say if you ask if it’s safe to wear your rolex somewhere then just take it off and bury it underground blah blah as if asking if it’s safe to wear your rolex in certain areas is a stupid question.

not sure if people live under a rock, but watch crimes are most definitely on the rise and it is a problem.

do i think you need to baby the watches and only wear them in the comfort of your own home? no. but you definitely need to be aware of where you’re going and be aware of your surroundings depending which part of the world you’re in. i live in NYC and sometimes depending where i’m going in manhattan i will choose to leave it home for the day. does that mean i should only wear it with the blinds down? no. it means i am trying to avoid a situation that i don’t want to be in and they happen more than we hear about. not everyone getting mugged is a TRF member. A lot of my friends and family are detectives in the city and this has been happening all the time recently.

it wasn’t like this 3 years ago when display cases were full but unfortunately this is the reality today.

OP- if you’re worried about it, you’ll have much more peace of mind just leaving it home and enjoying your vacation without added stress

Ibiza at a 5 star hotel. I think you should be fine?

My friend made fun of me the other day when I told him I only wear my watch at home or friends houses. It's really wild out there, a nice watch is a quick payday for a criminal.

Definitely leave it at home if you are even thinking about it as a concern, vacations are for relaxing and letting go of the trappings of home. Your mental state is all that matters, not the state of the place you are visiting.

I ma visiting Ibiza around three times a year. Especially in the night club area, I would not advise anyone to wear your Royal Oak or your Nautilus; way too many strange people around. Top Beachclubs no problem at all.

Looks like not even high end art fairs are safe anymore:

Thieves smash and grab at the TEFAF Fair.

There are millions of Rolex watches out there, so we can let occasional anecdotes be too worrisome. After having a gun put to my head to steal a girlfriend’s relatively inexpensive car in a nice part of Los Angeles, I can’t let my self worry too much about what’s possible, or I’d never leave the house.

I don't recommend it until the end of he summer season.

I'm living in Spain and have visited Ibiza several times and knowing what is happening there I'm very careful wearing luxury timepieces outside the hotel....

You only have to take a look into the local newspapers, here's an article from yesterday...

Its an island with little crime.

The risk is higher on affluent tourist destinations on the mainland, where the gangs can move quickly along the coast from one "hunting ground" to the next.

Took my RG GMT to Ibiza for a week last year. I saw lots of nice watches. No issues at all, but then again the clubs were shut
