What's the odds that a thief takes the chance of breaking into a car, stealing a bag but doesn't go through it thoroughly enough to find this watch. I mean it's not like they stood beside the car while searching the bag. They would have had plenty of time to pull everything out and search every pocket. Just a crazy story if this all ends up as it currently seems to line up. Good luck OP but please be careful.

According to the new member who found the backpack, the backpack was not stolen but rather lost. Lost how, I don't know. Maybe OP left it on the side of the road somehow?

Not necessarily true. Guitar players google serial numbers to see if the guitar is real or stolen.

Remember when Neil Peart (drummer/percussionist for Rush) lost his Patek? Was in his motorcycle side storage and it fell off. Good people found the case and a number to call....

in my life time, i've lost my wallet 3 times and they were always returned to me intact.
I've found woman's purses and bags and men's wallet and i've always returned them to the owners.

one of the times i was getting divorced, it took 21 months, i was homeless, living anywhere i could and broke. I found a ladies bag at a grocery store parking lot in a grocery cart. It was full of cash ($500), $30 worth of quarters, a blank check signed with no name on signed to the order, a social security card, insurance card and a drivers license. I was broke but i couldnt keep it. I went to the address on the license, she didnt live there any more but they were able to find her. Ohhh she was shocked and so happy and she tried to give me some of her money but i couldnt take it...i told her that if she ever found something that wasn't hers to pay it forward...because i have lost and somehow it has been returned back to me...Karma Man!!!
