I also passed on the 70th, but only because an offer I couldn’t refuse was given on this beauty in the mean time

Those who passed on Act 1 may soon have many great options. Per Blancpains latest magazine…”Act 1 secures its place as a new benchmark for the future evolution of the Fifty Fathoms.”

As much as I'd love to get excited over this, call me skeptical. Blancpain loves not giving the people what they really want.

Would love to add a 42 mm Fifty Fathoms with the 1315 caliber to my humble BP collection. But I am disappointed too many times the last 5 years to believe that Blancpain will finally deliver on what their loyal fanbase is asking for.

I couldn’t decide on which one so…I got both the Milspec (no date) and the 70th. Unfortunately I cannot figure out how to post a pic here LOL.

Some great BP's to be seen here.
When I started this thread I was very hesitant. Hoped for the best but feared it would die quickly.
Never expected this kind of response, we are many here, us BP owners

Nice! Yours is the only other one I’ve seen on this forum! Mine on RedRock canvas.

Love this timepiece. I was today in the Blancpain boutique and tried on the new 42mm in Titanium Black dial and honesty I prefer this 70th version over the Titanium new 42mm version. The 70th anniversary is just more visually pleasing and works much better on the wrist. The sword hands in mho is nice on the 45mm version. I would take the 45mm over the new 42mm, I was very surprised.

Thank you. It was a pretty good day. Still early season, but we caught a couple of really nice Brown and a couple really nice Rainbow. Fishing in WY and I’m thinking of hitting the Henry’s Fork in ID today, although the weather is abysmal.

That’s gods county… up here in southern Ontario I’m constantly struggling to find solace.
40 yrs ago you’d see no one, now it’s shoulder to shoulder in come rivers.
Thank goodness I know where to go to avoid people.
Drift boats are key

Thats an Allcocks centrepin reel. Certainly not made for fly fishing and by the looks of the mono you have on it, not used for fly fishing either.
