Fun day at the grey yesterday, first time seeing a factory precious stone AP, not sure I could justify the $500k price tag but interesting nonetheless. Platona blew me away the most, so much better in person.

First time I get to post in this thread! My first (well, technically second) AP and I am absolutely in love with it. Everything makes sense now, no matter how many videos I've seen, nothing compares with experiencing it in the flesh. The watch (15450ST 37mm) is utterly flawless, and I mean utterly flawless under macro even. No smudges, no rough edges, machined to absolute perfection. I love the black polish on the hex bolts on the bezel, the way everything from the dial, rehaut, bracelet links and intermediate links play with the light at all times under all lighting conditions, and from every single angle. This is one I will never tire of owning. I had very briefly owned another 15450ST about 2 weeks ago, a few years old example. It had been polished at some point (definitely not by AP!).
Please for the love of god do not polish these things! If you must, only let AP handle it! They had completely ruined the watch by trying to save a few bucks and trying to make it look 'like new'. It boggles my mind that someone would try their hand at polishing a Royal Oak. Comparing it side by side with this factory new 2021 example, the factory polish makes all the difference in the world. Truly exceptional. I'm hooked for life on AP now, consider me a full-on fanboy. The first of many.
