Thanks for the feedback! At this price point, for me, the watch has to be perfectly sized. Much to think about. Perhaps will try finding the older generation for comparison Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

The issue with the previous version is that it is thicker so it obviously sits up higher so for me I could not make either work but give it a shot. Have you considered an 1815 Chrono? I think they are very underrated and can be had for a great price.

Yes, I did consider the 1815 chronograph. However, no date makes it just that little less desirable. Perhaps that'll be the fallback plan. Thanks for the suggestion! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

For me your pics don't give a good idea as they are taken too close, about lugs hanging I have seen much worse here, I can't say I find it shocking but again hard to say so close. The first dato is not thicker, the up down is slightly thicker, but since there is 2mm difference in width the first gen looks thicker, but it isn't, when I tried on the dato perpetual it seemed to sit fine on my 6.9 flat wrist, but wasn't really paying much attention to how it sat as I had no interest in buying, was admiring the movement most of the time... ALS is a great brand but same as for FPJ I can't find any model in their line up that would fit me.

I didn't to be honest. I understand why you'd suggest wearing it on the right hand. Maybe will give it a try on a future visit. Watch on right hand seems weird to me but well worth a try! Quote:

Good point. Will take more pics if/ when I revisit the store. My gut feeling was that when I look at the watch face directly it looked fine. However the side view showed a very high height and overflowing lugs for my 6.5 inch flat top wrist. Thanks all for taking the time to give feedback and suggestion. Managed to track down an older generation datograph flyback. Grey dealer, not sure if it's genuine, and still to try it on. BUT it's a gorgeous watch :)

I now want the Original 39mm Datograph Flyback. The 41mm model was too big for my wrists.
Heading to the United States later this month. Any reputable 2nd hand dealers to recommend? Govberg is out of stock. Takuya too. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Good choice, I like both but kinda prefer the 39. My favorite is the perpetual in WG, it is stunning, it was hard to decide between it, a RM 035 or 055 and a Voutilainen. In the end I understood the dato dial was too hard to read, the RM's were great but for that kind of cash I preferred to get a unique piece, but if you want a great chrono for around 40K, the dato first edition is a serious contender...

Ya that's my thinking too now. Thanks! The datograph 41mm is amazing. When I thought about other watches I owned in the past like a submariner or seamaster... the Datograph 41 is thinner. So who knows, I might flip flop again! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Do people here think the ALS Saxiona 37mm is a good size for a dress watch, or too small? It looks quite nice.
I wonder if it works, or if the 38.5/40 mm models are better suited for the modern world. Here's the write up on Hodinkee: https://www.hodinkee.com/articles/a-...k-on-the-wrist |
