Amazing! I'll be placing my order for one on Monday, once the shipping/ insurance has been confirmed.

I’m struggling with some buyer’s remorse on my new 5212a.
I received the call from my AD that he had a 5212a I had first dibs on. I was out of town so couldn’t go in to try it on. Made decision to buy it since they’re hard to come by and AD likely wouldn’t receive another one for rest of year. I’ve posted up in TRF before that I was really interested in this reference. I hate to say it but I’m a bit underwhelmed by it. Don’t get me wrong it’s an amazing piece but it’s the most expensive watch I’ve purchased and it doesn’t pop like I had hoped. From pics I’ve seen on TRF I had also hoped it would work in a more casual setting but I feel it’s not a match for where my mindset is on watches currently. I just ordered some waxed canvas straps to try to make it more casual. Hopefully that will help me fall for it.

Am I crazy for not loving the 5212a out of box?? Just needed to post about this as I’m really beating myself up over it.

Good news is that the 5212 is a fine watch and as it is steel and a unique complication counting the weeks, it should be easy to get out of without any downside. You can move the funds to something that speaks to you. Since you have it, give it some time to settle. It can be an adjustment putting something so precious on your wrist. The OEM tan strap looks like it would be the perfect casual strap to me.

You're not crazy. I'm not fan either. The overall package, how the complications are displayed and the font in particular make this look like an old man's watch, not a casual modern watch. I frankly don't understand all the love it gets. But we all have our preferences. As noted, it's a watch desired by many, so you should be able to get out of it without too much pain. I would probably wait, though, and see if it grows on you. Maybe you end up liking it...

Hey Jin , I love the 5270 but please put the original beautiful
brown alligator strap back on! I won’t report this to Therry this time ha!Don’t want you to get flagged - just kidding but that strap just isn’t my cup of tea . Guess that must why they have chocolate & vanilla. Love the piece though. Wish you the best as always , humble michael in San Antonio:-))

I like the watches unique dial and 40 mm size. If it were white gold with a deployment buckle it would be perfect. Still out of my price range though. LoL. Keep it for 6 months or so and see if it grows on you.

There are many watches with more complications, higher degree of finishing of the movements (sharp inward and outward edges) and/or innovations, but ultimately we rate the watches we like in our own subjective way (probably overall design in this case). The 5711 is the watch I love and wear the most
