Well, there's finally a solution to all this "in-thread fighting" and I must admit the Forum administrator who came up with idea is a genius.
If you read the "new" policy on controversial threads it reads something like this: But, don't quote me on the specifics you'll have to read it for yourself. Once the moderator and administrator deem a thread "volatile" they allow the thread to continue for five more calendar days. After the five day period all involved in the thread discussion, even the innocent commenters will be sent a message to your message box and a reminder email to your home to show up in the newly formed Forum room called, "Let's All Get Along." On the specified date and time you'll have 15 minutes to log into the new room so the moderator can take roll. If you don't show up or don't provide an excuse in advance you'll be suspended from the Forum for a week. I think the rules state that second offenses and beyond levy a monetary-type fine billed back to your credit card that they now will have on file once this process gets up and running. Once roll is taken and all the "posters" are in the room, your computer screen will act like a teleprompter after a brief countdown, 10, 9, 8, 7.... All sessions will start with the words that the "posters" are to repeat at home, "I'm sorry if I offended anybody with my words. I didn't mean to hurt you or show disrespect to our almighty Forum." Then, (I think this is the correct order) you'll be told (not asked) to hold out both arms at your side with your palms open and pretend you're holding the hand of the "poster" that made you most mad. The teleprompter wil tell you to speak aloud the words, "I forgive you for your comments. I know you didn't mean to hurt me. I know for certain you will be more understanding in future threads." Then, there is a series of other phrases (I don't quite remember) that you'll have to speak aloud that the Forum got from a pschologist who was a consultant to the whole idea. I do remember how they'll end each session, though. After you read all of the psychological phrases aloud you will follow the teleprompter for the "new" finale protocol. With your arms still open, all involved including the moderator and adminstrator, will sing "kumbaya." The words will scroll on the the teleprompter and (what I think is a neat-o idea) music will play on your speakers at home so you can keep the beat. The session will end when the song ends and, as the newsletter states, you'll feel "uplifted." It's not quite over after this because there now will be a "new" room called, "The Milk and Donuts" room that you can go after the sessions ends and "kibitz" with the others that were in the "Let's All Get Along" room. Entrance into this room is voluntary-only and this room will only be "open" after one of these "uplifting" sessions. I think the whole idea is ingenious and I'll betya it cost the Forum alot of money and time to put this together. And how about the countless consultants and people involved. Way To Go Forum! This wasn't one of your more thought out posts, was it? This does nothing but already inflame an already difficult situation among several of our members. This kind of attitude shows very little regard on your part for our members or forum and is very much out of line. Check your PM's.

People, please, Let's leave this thread alone for a while. It's really doing nothing but disturbing some of our members.

So back to the thread topic....
I'm at my boy's Under 9 soccer game today and I notice a SS Daytona on another parent's wrist. My watch is under the sleeve of my long sleeve T-shirt. We had been chatting about our boys for a while, so I asked him is that a Rolex? The uncomfortbale pause...like after a fart in church...."errr, no, it's a fake I got in New York City for $20 or 30...but hey it runs pretty good. It looked like crap once I got a closer look at it, bad cyclops, poorly fit bezel...yuck. I didn't bother show him mine and just let the topic drop as he was a nice person to chat with and parent of my son's teammate.

That's a 'cool' idea.
It was interesting to see some of the faces behind the names. A new thread like that would be interesting or I guess you can still add to that one. |

No need to start a new one. We just keep adding to that one. That's what it's for.
