I have empathy for your dilemma - currently pondering flipping a Daytona to fund the remaining purchase value of a 911....but then I put the Daytona on my wrist and think..hmmmm?

Get the bike for the summer....if you like it, keep it...if not, flip it for a Daytona in September! Good luck with your decision!

I should add that the cost of insuring a Harley (and any applicable annual taxes) is much more than insuring the watch so there's a higher secondary cost.
who cares -
Motorcycles are cooler!

I love my watches - but my harley far more.

should have spent more and got a 103 V-TWIN

I'd buy a motorcycle.

Honestly though, I've been arguing with myself lately as well in a similar way - Do I buy the grail (Yellow Gold GMT IIc with black face) or do I trade the Mini Cooper and cash for a Caymen R?

I've decided to do neither.

I'm getting rid of 2 Breitlings and buying one Rolex, and getting rid of one Aprilia and buying one KTM. You can have both.

Do it, you know you want to!!

Seriously, bikes are great fun but if you've not ridden before, start with something a bit gutless so you don't die on it. 883 will be fine for this.

Do as many rider courses as you can and always beware the white V6 Toyota Camry. I don't know what it is about the drivers of those things, but they are the least attentive drivers I have ever come across. Oddly, the four banger drivers aren't the same problem?

Most importantly, don't ride beyond your ability. There's always gonna be someone who can beat you, but who cares?

That 883 is worth $3500 resale. You will be ready for a big-twin in 2 months.

If your wrists can wear a Daytona nicely then go for the HD 883, if the Deepsea fits better, then you need an HD Softail.

What a bike, love the bars! Some good friends ride these, I'm hoping to join them with my Italian special.

I rode for over 10 years.. all sport bikes, hyabusa's, honda cbr's, zx-10-r, zx-6r etc..

I lowsided my bike due to oil on the road, tumbled about 30 feet and was lucky to walk away. My helmet was ground down and any further, I would have no chin today.

That was God telling me "my" riding days are over lol. now I buy watches and cars.

Come on guys . . . . a Sportster 883 . . . .for a man . . . ?
I thought the 883's where made for women . . .
Within months you are wishing you bought a Heritage or a Fat Boy . . .
You'll see . . . after your first Harley ride . . .

It's the same as wearing a 26 mm DJ . . . ;-)

Have a look at Terminator . . . he rides a bike and wears watches ;-)

The only problem with that would be the puddle of oil in the middle of your living room!

When I was younger I had a Ducati that I parked in the living room of my ground floor apartment. I didn't have a garage and the landlord never new. At that time I wore a Timex and was perfectly happy with it.

I like cars more than watch! But on this occasion, get the watch first and wait for the new shape Cayman. So far, the new/evolved Boxster look much tastier than the previous version!

I actually like the base model 883 for its refined feel. While not as fat, it doesn't scream Hells Angel wannabe.
