The market are those who build themselves multiple palaces, convert airliners into private aircraft, give their sons Ferraris and Lambos for their 18th birthday, and shuttle their entire family + entourages for summers in Geneve, Nice, and London etc to escape the heat and shop, shop, shop. They really have no equal with it comes to shopping for luxury items. This Rolex is tastefully done compared to much of what you see, not bizarro at all. Displays of wealth are a statement of importance and are actually expected, and be-jewelled gold items are regularly given as gifts for similar reasons. A lot of those gifts rarely see the light of day because they're sitting amongst all the other gifts of similar nature.

When it comes to making and selling this kind of stuff, Rolex doesn't care what any of us think in terms of "ruining" or "diminishing".

No class in that. Watches and diamonds can go together but not like that IMHO. I guess different strokes for different folks and 32 flavors and all that jazz.
